We live in Cairns, which is only a 5.5-hour drive away from Townsville. We use the town for quick get aways and shopping not available in Cairns.
Plenty of good places to eat with lots of variety from drive through to quality restaurants.
Getting around is pretty easy if you have Google maps or similar. It's very spread out and there seems to be multiple ways to get to some destinations.

Loved the area with friendly people everywhere.
Loved the area with friendly people everywhere. Went to the Museum which my Great nephew really loved. All hands on. Went to Kirwan Bowling and had a great time with all our extended family.
Also went to the Tavern and had a wonderful meal which didn't cost too much.
Spent time on The Strand at the Waterpark and all the kids had a ball splashing around.

It is a nice city surrounded by some rainforest, farmland and bush. Lots to see and do. I loved the museums. I loved the botanical gardens; the hill overlooking Townsville is five minutes drive away from the hotel and you can drive or walk up it. The esplanade is worth the walk. Lots of places eat and drink along it.

Townsville is a relaxed, growing city with good restaurants in Palmer Street and along the Strand. Easy to get around and always peaceful on the water front. Magnetic Island is a quick ferry ride away.

The location of this hotel is really good. Its central to most tourist activities which is really handy, like the ferries to Magnetic & Palm Islands, the Strand, Casino etc. The staff were amazing and I can't thank them enough for going above and beyond to return my phone to me after I had left it in my room after checking out. The cleanliness of the room was great and our views from the balcony awesome. Definitely recommend this hotel (as long as the beds are comfortable).
Have stayed in this accommodation before. It is great for a family who want cooking facilities and a bit more space than a hotel would offer. It's in a quiet suburban street, there is an excellent place to get a coffee about 300 metres away. We like to spend time on the strand and it's close by, less than 10 mins drive. Excellent value for money. We are in Townsville regularly and will stay here again.
The rooms are small but good for short stays. The hotel is ideally situated in Palmer Street, near a number of restaurants. Special thanks to the two young women at reception who were exceptionally helpful as we were caught up in the Optus outage. Would happily stay here again for a overnight or a day or two. Excellent dinner across the road at Masala.
The friendly nature of the staff. All the amenities within the hotel were all close to the room but there was no noise from the bar. Food was really nice. Jo on reception was extremely helpful. I felt so relaxed that I forgot I had to catch my transport to my next port of call. I would definitely stay here in the hotel and Townsville again
The location is fantastic to everything in the CBD. Our room was amazing looking out to the stadium which was nice to have with a small balcony to sit and have a afternoon drink before going out. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help out if needed. Really nice hotel to stay in Townsville and would highly recommend.
I have been comming to townsville a bit in the last 4 years ..I don't stay anywhere else..most easy going relaxed joint in the whole of townsville everything is at your fingers take away shops beach comfortably hotel ..mad sleeps..jus love this majestic 😍 joint
The hotel is in a great location, near but not too close to a good shopping area and not too far from the ports. There is a wide choice of restaurants nearby and some grocery stores not too far away if you wanted to use the cooking facilities in the apartment.
Was good. Location is great. Breakfast can have more variety.
free onsite parking... though a bit confusing as it is shared with the resto next to the hotel.
Beds were comfortable.
most happening street.. good restaurants on Palmer street.
You really can't beat the location and price. The generously sized rooms and friendly staff are a bonus. The family rooms are great for inter-generational families as they have a separate queen room. This hotel ticks all the boxes in my book.
Nice little B&B option while in Townsville. The rooms were super clean and a little breakfast was provided.
It is convenient if driving but not in the most attractive part of town
Quiet, comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. Everything you want after a long drive. I have stayed here in the past and always found it a good choice when passing through Townsville.
The staff were friendly and helpful at check-in and check-out. The apartments are one block from The Strand and all the activities there. Walking distance to shops and hotels.
Comfortable room with a great view toward Magnetic Island - perfect for enjoying sunrise. The hotel is centrally located and perfect location for the Sunday markets.
