Beautiful city.
Beautiful city. Excellent museum of modern art, de Fundatie. Beautiful bookstore inside an old church. The best cake and chocolates in the Netherlands at Bakkerij Lindeboom. Try my three favourites: Dark chocolate filled with 5-spice, dark chocolate with cardamom filling, and the milk chocolate filled with caramel and sea salt. Try the others too. Many are prize winning chocolates.

I was raining so we could not appreciate very much, but I am sure that the hystorical part of the city, for what I could have seen, is very interesting and charming. The building is extremely quirky and feels very grand, even though the hotel is not that big. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The rooms we had were large and the beds very comfortable. The hotel is situated on a pleasant side street an easy, short walk away from the centre of Zwolle. The bar drinks menu is really breathtaking and very reasonably priced for what is on offer. I got my own cubicle with a single bed and storage, plus a locker for my bag in the hallway. I was travelling in off-peak season so it was really quiet, and the location was great. Zwolle is a beautiful place and the staff gave me recommendations for eating and drinking, which I followed and had a great night. The hostel is about 15 minutes' walk from the train station, and it takes you through the beautiful town centre.

When we arrived we were greeted and everything was shown to us, the hosts were very welcoming and friendly. For the cold weather there was even an AC in the room, that came in very handy after being out in the cold in rain to warm up. The hosts had even prepared a little guide to where we could go and eat, something to see and some facts about Zwolle, which was very lovely and came in handy.LindaLatvia

The shower is nicely appointed and the private patio area is a pleasant place to relax. The room itself is quite small and we felt a bit cramped. The skylight helps but we needed to keep it open for some ventilation during the night which meant we were awakened with the sun in the morning. The breakfast was awesome and as requested. The owner Alice went beyond our expectations to make us feel comfortable and even indulged some of our special requests. I would definitely advice this place to stay if in Zwolle or anywhere near.
