Very well run place, generous to a fault. We had asked for twin beds but they didn’t have any room with twin beds so they gave us a complimentary second room. Even though the suite I had booked was very big and could have easily accommodated a second bed. On our second night, we went to the restaurant. We were told they hadn’t opened yet as they had been doing some renovations but they kindly offered to cook a meal especially for us. Not only was it greatly appreciated as after hiking all the way the Cruzinha, I could not have walked any further, but the meal was excellent.

The room was quite good, with a good toilet, a big closet with a safe, and a fan. I liked the communal balcony overlooking the city and the sea. Very close to the center (about 5 min walk). It was recommended to us (2 women) to avoid walking back from the centre at night, and to take a taxi instead as it could be a bit dangerous. We decided to walk (roughly 5 minutes), and we didn't find the place dodgy or dangerous at all. Quite the contrary: quite calm. However, it can be a good idea to be cautious. Staff was very nice!

Everything was nice .. helpful staff , good breakfast and the restaurant has nice food , me and my friends enjoined our stay there .. wil book again when visiting Sal .

It was quiet (because empty) and the surroundings are beautiful. The rooms are very simple but very clean.

The place is very remote and as it was our first night in the island, we had a bit of trouble finding it. I had asked for directions before hand but received no answer. What looks like a pool in the pictures is about three by three meters. Wifi didn’t work. Food and especially breakfast should be improved.

Unfortunately, they publish checkin and checkout hours that are incorrect, as there was nobody there in these hours. I wanted to checkout at 08:30, well within the published checkout hours, but there was nobody to store my bag, no employee present, and nobody responded to my messages. The cleaning lady only arrived at 10h, which resulted in me having to stay much longer to checkout. She couldn't guarantee there wpuld be someone there at 18h in order to collect my bag, and there was no response from anyone. With no option to leave my bag I had to change my entire plan. The owner responded after many hours, saying she was out of the country, but in this case someone has to be in charge and make sure things are working properly, particularly during checkin/checkout hours. Same problem when checking in: I arrived early to leave my bag. Luckily, I asked, just to make sure, that I can be back at 18h to checkin. The cleaning lady told me that I have to come back before she leaves at 16h to check in, or there would be nobody (but she did end up giving me the key so I could come later). However, If I hadn't asked, I would have returned at 18h to find the place unattended. Most rooms don't have a window, be aware. Some staff was nice, while others seemed unhappy to attend you. Overall disappointed with the lack of respect that resulted in me having to change my entire plan. I rarely leave a bad review, but I think that the fact that the place is unattended during some of the checkin and checkout hours, and that there is no response on phone/chat, is a huge disrespect for the clients.
