Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandThe room was VERY basic - there was a bed in it, and nothing else. No TV, internet did not work a single time (too far from the router?), I was placed between toilets and the gas stove, so a lot of noise throughout the night. The view out of my window was another building (about 3 metres away).... I could keep on listing those little bits and bobs, but the bottom line is: if you're looking for a cheap place to stay close to the centre, then U Betty is a fairly good choice.
Good location. that's pretty much all. Good if you're looking for a budget stay, without any other expectations.

Czech RepublicAs the rooms were very close together, there was a very late arrival around 4am from the neighbours which woke me up.
Maybe the best price/performance ratio when you're travelling at the last minute and just need somewhere to stay. The beds were quite comfortable and we were surprised by their softness. I heard hardly any traffic from the street. Don't expect anything special

SpainThe floor I was staying in smelled really bad, like a mix of cigarette smoke, bleach, and humidity. The doors also do nothing for noise and I could hear everything happening around the floor, including babies, people banging on doors and speaking loudly. The matresses were noticeably used, with a dent in the middle, almost felt like I was sleeping on the wood. I don't expect top notch matresses but for 30€ a night I expect better. The room was pretty small supposed to fit two people, barely space for bags + walking around the bed.
The location is great, in the heart of the old town, near a Billa supermarket and the main square. The staff is very nice and helped me even with language differences. The bathroom was OK, nothing spectacular.

Czech RepublicQuite old and not necessarily dirty, but it could use some renovating. Despite forbidden smoking inside, it slightly smells of cigarette smoke, the common shower+toilet has no key to lock it, there are some questionable people in other rooms (as it is not a hotel, but an accommodation service moreso), the couch in the room was dirty. Weird establishment, tbh.
Cheap, well located, the sheets were clearly washed before (smelled of washing detergent) and the personal at the reception was friendly. I'd say get it if you intend to just sleep somewhere close to the centre for one or two days, but otherwise stay away if you expect anything else than a cheap place to crash. The kitchen is there but it misses very basic things like spoons.

SlovakiaThe rooms are very old, I was afraid to touch anything so that I would not break it. Extremelly squeaky floors, you can hear when someone walks anywehere in the building. While I was there, it was full of very sketchy people, arguing and shouting through the night, I didn't feel safe there.
The reception staff was very nice. Location is excellent for the price. If you are a man, can sleep through anything and don't mind sharing bathroom with strange people, you will be OK.

SlovakiaWell, as it happens when you go to a cheap accommodation, you should not expect much. The premises were under construction, other guests were noisy and low-class and it did not provide the warmth necessary for travelling. But would not expect that for this price.

FranceThe kitchen was not very week furnished, and wifi was not working. One of the bathroom could not be locked from the inside. Light was turning off very quickly while cooking or showering.
The flat was in the center and people were respectful of the quiet period between 22pm and 6am. The room was cosy and heating very efficient. Check out was very easy and one of the receptionist speaks English.
