Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

UkraineNo smoking room smelled like cigarettes. Assuming the fact that we were with little child it was not pleasant. Stuff not very friendly. Booking says there is parking for free - for fact there is no parking place for free. Breakfast poor.

GermanyThe pillow was quite small. Overall, the room decor is quite dated, which is understandable given the price point. The area around the hotel can get quite rough, especially at night. Overall, I found the price point to be way too high, though it was still the cheapest option I could find in the area.
Located in front of the main bus terminal, it is a few minutes walk from the main train station. The room was very quiet and the bed was surprisingly soft and comfortable.

North MacedoniaRooms look a lot bigger on the photos but are actually small, at least the one where we stayed at was. They look like they haven't been renovated or anything changed in them for quite some time. The bed and the pillows were the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in and that's saying a lot when you need a good night's sleep.
Location is very good, staff is friendly and speak English. Breakfast was nice.

United KingdomWe arrived by bicycle. I'd messaged the hotel before to ask if they had secure cycle storage, but they did not reply. We didn't arrive until 11.30pm due to train delays, so we we're very tired. We we're informed when we arrived that we had to pay 20 euros cash to put the bikes in our room. Total rip off! The street outside was very noisy and there was definitely drug dealing going on outside.
The room was OK, bed comfortable, shower good.

ItalyDo Not stay in this hotel. It is a DISGRACE. They have hidden charges,like 15€/hour for early check in.... And they even set check in at 15.00 which is later than most.... So if you arrive at 12.00, tired from a long flight, you have to pay 45€ to get into your room!!! Unbelievable... I give it 0. Plus I even left early, at 6 am, no wake up call offered. If you ask them to call a taxi, they say no, there are many out in the street!!!! Service = 0, and they rip you OFF. They should learn some ethics, I have NEVER seen anything like it, and I have travelled the world extensively!!

NorwayIt was the worst experience ever for me and my family. Cleanliness is non-existent and the hair dryer is out of order. I booked for three people! Two adults and a 5-year-old child, but the surprise was that the room had one bed. They told me that the child sleeps with you. The noise from the street is very, very loud, and most importantly of all, there is no refrigerator - coffee machine - or any other facilities. I felt myself in exile

FranceIt was terribly expensive for the smallest room ever. The room was gloomy, old and depresive. Even though it was interior, there was a noise that came an went. Not sure if it was the lift or some underground train that made vibrations over the whole building.
