How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The walls of the room needed a fefresh in the painting or the have to be washed in some parts as there were some stains
The only important negative thing about the hotel is the location, as it is placed in the heart of the notorious party zone. I was really not prepared for this... For someone else it could be fine 😉 Staff was excellent. Very helpfull and very polite.

Very basic, no frills room. Area was not great. No restaurant for lunch or dinner

I found the mattresses a bit too firm, which caused my hip to hurt, but my husband didn't have any issues.
The location was perfect for us. It was on the edge of St Pauli, so it wasn't too noisy or sketchy, but it was easily accessible to everything. There is also a grocery store and S-Bahn Station right by the hotel. The rooms were a bit ugly but newly renovated. There was a wireless charging station on one side of the bed, which was a nice touch. The bathroom was small but very nicely refurbished. It was a little pricey, but we were overall very happy with the facilities and location. No issues to complain about.

We arrived on Thursday and left on Sunday and the rooms were not cleaned at all during our stay. I had yo ask for a toilet roll. We didn't have one spare.
The staff were great, so friendly.

Depending on where your room is located in the building, it can get quite loud at night because you are in the nightclub/bar/red-light district. If you are sensitive to noise, this may not be the best hotel for you.
Everyone on staff was really friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable. I was worried they might be a bit too small, but they were just fine for our needs.

The hotel room door was a bit hard to close. No big deal, just had to pay attention to closing and ensuring the door locks when entering or leaving the room.
This hotel is in a great location if you're into night life. Short 10-15minute transit to most attractions in Hamburg. Our stay was comfortable. Staff were nice enough. Didn't really have to interact with them much due to the self checkin/ checkout kiosk. Rooms were as advertised, clean, quiet and beds comfortable. Hotel offers overflow off site parking that's just a couple minute walk from the hotel. Breakfast was good.

There's no kettle facility in the rooms. Shower gel dispenser was empty upon arrival (promptly refilled after notifying staff). Whilst I was staying on my own, one pillow and a single duvet (on a double bed) did seem a little miserly?
Good breakfast (plenty of choice). Pleasant, helpful staff and a very good location to explore St Pauli and beyond. Plenty of public transport links, supermarkets and shops that are just a short walk away.

I am sure this is more of a unique case rather than something that everyone would find, but there was room for improvement in the cleanliness department. Overall it was OK and acceptable but we found that is not exactly the case when we pulled away the curtains to let some sunlight in, there was some old socks on the floor, hiding behind the curtain which made us feel a little uneasy. Not to mention this is something one would not expect from a hotel in this price range. Besides that the room was pretty good.
The location fitted perfectly our needs we had some events to attend in Altona which was walking distance from the hotel and also for the rest of the time we could easily go for a walk in nearby parks and near the river and even go to the city center which is easily accessible. The room is quiet and modern.

The breakfast wasn't good, the coffee there wasn't good either so room for improvement here. There is a Lidl very close so you can buy food there. I stayed one night on a Saturday and it was expensive for what I got. It may be cheaper on other nights (not weekend) but I paid for convenience of location so would reco if you need to stay in that area
The room was lovely but no tea and coffee in the room which I missed but the bed was super comfortable and the room was spacious. The location is excellent, I needed to be close to Gruespan so ideal. The area is a bit sketchy though so one to bear in mind but the hotel is super safe

It says there is parking on the website but it is not made clear that you need to pay for that parking and it is not included in the price of the room. It's an extra 15 EUR per day.
