Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

TurkeyThe rooms could be a little bit larger and also an elevator would be appreciated. Again the staff helped us to take our baggages downstairs , but an elevator can easily solve this problem.
I liked the staff, speciallly Amin was very helpful. The staff was always smiling. They cleaned the room everyday. Free coffee and tea was very nice !

United StatesWe have experienced several multi-night stays at Hotel zur alten Stadtkellerei Leipzig and have always been pleased. As with previous stays, our room was clean, quiet, comfortable, and spacious enough, and the wifi worked well. On this stay, we didn't take breakfast. We did take advantage of free coffee and make use of the free parking.

AustraliaThe hotel is located in a run down area that it is in the process of being rejuvenated. New businesses are starting up.
The hotel has a period charm. It is reached by a short tram ride from the central station.

United StatesWe didn't like the setup in the bathroom (room 14).
We have stayed at Hotel zur alten Stadtkellerei Leipzig several times. As with previous stays, we were pleased with our stay. The price was reasonable; our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable; and the wifi worked well. This time, we didn't take breakfast, which we have found to be quite good in the past.

United KingdomThe area was both good and bad. A bit of an old industrial area "behind" the (enormous) station. So some travellers might not like it. But I actually found it unusual and fascinating, if mildly inconvenient. Some of the old buildings around there (including the hotel) were solidly built and grand-- from a different era.
I liked the unusual building and the free tea and coffee.

Czech RepublicNothing about accomodation itself but it would be very useful to put note that Leipzig is in Green zone and if you drive by car you need to get this green sticker before your arrival. We had to leave car in P+R parking and go with luggages by tram to the hotel.
App. 20 minutes by wall to city center and ZOO. Breakfast was nice, not bufet type but still choice of food was good.

GermanyThe 'basic' room for two person, we ordered, was disappointing, especially the bathroom. The towel holder is loose on the the wall, the shower curtain was old and not up to date anymore and even after carefully showering the whole bath was flooded. Generally the room really was basic.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast wasn't buffet, but much and tasty :) The hotel is family and child friendly, for example with toys in the breakfast room. There's always free coffee and hot drinks available.

NetherlandsThe bathroom was veery small. Impossible to use the toilet without having legs inside the shower. The location is rather industrial, so not a nice walk to reach the city center (but a convenient tram stops nearby).
The room was reasonably big, even after putting the (hotel-provided) baby bed. The dining room had a small children's corner.

Czech RepublicThe room was quite noisy, we had to leave our windows open in the night (it was hot) and therefore heard all the traffic noises. The coffee machine should be exchanged:) (does not work much and the morning coffee was terrible). The decoration of the breakfast dining hall is really super ugly - so ugly that it almost seems like a kind of postmodern joke - lovers of cottage+camp aesthetics would highly appreciate it:))))
About 4-5 stations from the centre by tram. The tram stop is just next to the hotel. Nice staff, spacy room, comfortable bathroom. It was hot and the room was equipped with a fan. Breakfast was to be ordered before, but we got everything we wanted in both quantity and quality. The price was really fair when considering prices in Leipzig.

United KingdomA little away from the centre, I was unsure of the area, so as a solo female I would not walk or take the tram back at night time, I had to take cabs.
It was a lovely building, the room was very spacious, clean, cool with both windows open has a nice through draft. Comfy bed, nice breakfast room & breakfast, good coffee anytime. Lovely staff, mostly quiet. Very good value for money. Tram stop not too far away.
