How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There was no space for bags, the front door is never locked, walls wery thin you can hear everything that is happening in the bathroom.
It was very clean, the park outside is nice, the fridge is big, beds are comfortable, the owner is nice and friendly, the price is good.

The place was very small and it is not a real hostel. It is a small apartment (1 room) arranged as a hostel. Bedroom: 12 People in the same room (circa 7 meter square in strange shape). To understand: 4 bunk bed (3 bed per bunk) with less than 60 cm to pass from each other. Super hot and missing oxigen inside. I HAVE SLEPT IN THE PARK IN FRONT OF THE HOSTEL DURING THE NIGHT.....IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO BREATH; MISSING OXIGEN. Toilette/shower: a bit dirty. Kitchen: I didn´t use it at all (not need it but also I don´t want to klnow the conditions). Main door: didn´t have key or card. Not possible to closed.

The property is NOT like what shown in the pictures. Extremely small, very strong odor smelling, very dirty toilets and bathroom. Never recommend staying. I DID check in at the property, but when I saw the real conditions I decided to book another place. The cheating owner had claimed to Booking that I havent shown up to make me pay additional cancellation fee. The place doent meet even the basic requirements to be advertised on Booking!!!!
I didnt like anything about this property. So rude and cheating owner.

Very nice! Place was clean and was close to public transport, made it super easy to move around the city. All the staff was suuper friendly and the bed was really comfortable. There's also a kitchen and a washing machine, very convenient and helped me save some money. Loved it, defo coming back!

This place is a complete mess. It is nothing to write home about.
This is not an hostel. This guys are just collecting peoples money. I have never lived in such an horrible place in my life.

I’m really happy with my stay at this hostel and the how friendly is the staff who genuinely work to make everything right for the guests. I can say that this is not common in hostels where you feel that you are just a commodity, but no not here, in this hostel you really enjoy this personal relationship with the staff and also other guests, like that you never left home. Also, cleaning is impeccable and beds are comfortable. The hostel is in a calm street and near the metro station. I will surely come back and enjoy a longer stay.

It can feel a bit cramped since the spaces are used in the best possible way, but I had no problems because the weather was good and I was out and about all the time. I think the 12-bed dormitory should only have 9 beds to make room for lockers instead.
When I booked this hostel I was a little afraid because I had seen on the map that it is far away from the centre of Madrid, and I was wondering if I would find there the tourist atmosphere I was looking for. I had fear to end up in a miserable setting, like an old galleon demolished by years of battles, perhaps with a few rats around the hold. My doubts disappeared when I checked in and spoke to the manager and the cleaning girl, very nice people who were showing a great desire to do well and to make sure that the tourists arriving found an atmosphere and environment that suited them. I had a wonderful weekend, I felt in a familiar and welcoming spot much more delightful than some unhappy lodging establishments with hundreds of beds, where I sometimes felt I was treated like a thing. By the way, the hostel is very close to the metro station, and in a few minutes you can get anywhere in Madrid. It is clean, functional and all the main services are provided, the neighbourhood in which it is located seemed to me quiet and pleasant.

They unfortunately don't have lockers so you have to take care of your valuables.
This is a nice, cozy little hostel in Madrid with a family-like ambiance and very friendly staff. They have quality beddings, not the inflatable nonsense common in hostels, but REAL high quality and very comfortable mattresses. Cleaning service is continuous and the girl is literally cleaning after guests all day long, keeping the site super clean. WiFi is free and truly high speed, individual electrical sockets for EACH bed, large fridge and hot showers. Metro station is few minutes walking. I would like to congratulate the staff for the excellent service and high value for money. Thank you.

The place was clean and the staff was extremely friendly! The area is also well connected to touristic areas transport wise. I slept well because the mattress was really comfortable. They have a kitchen and a washing machine that saved me money for laundry. I’m definitely going back when I drop by madrid again in the future!!!
