Interiors decorated with taste in a beautiful building, in the midst of the center but quiet. Our room had terrace access and was very nice. Warm and welcoming personnel, but very professional! I loved it.

Such a delightful place, very quiet room. Only 10 minutes walk to the Sagrada. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Was able to leave my bags and collect later as had late evening flight.

Unfortunately if you stay during the week there is a school sports ground right behind the terrace which makes it very noisy from 8 am till at least 4pm . It spoils the terrace unfortunately as the children are screaming all day . No fault of the Casa Mathilde but an unfortunate fact nonetheless.

I have a hard time thinking of anything that could have made a difference. I rated this 5 stars but if I had to think of something I would say that maybe it wasn't spotless...the floor and around the shower door but it was FINE! Also, the elevator was old-fashioned and super cool but a little tricky. The hostess was there to help us every step of the way but I think it would be helpful for that to be in the directions...how to actually get to Casa Mathilda once you enter the building.

The hostesses were incredibly welcoming and friendly. The beds were super comfortable. The layout was unexpected but different and enchanting. The beds made the most of the room. The shower had a detachable spray which was very handy. The view was so pretty. There was a common area which was inviting and charming. and spacious. It provided a great opportunity to get outside of your room and relax on the beautiful patio or sit on the comfy sitting area. The hostess even brought an iron and ironing board for me. I loved that the hostesses were readily available on site but we still totally had our privacy.

It’s so charming and quaint. I honestly didn’t know what to expect, although it seemed cute from the photos and it exceeded my expectations. Patricia was AMAZING. So helpful, so kind and her kind and warm energy is contagious. She helped to make my stay at Casa Mathilda extra special.

This was such a wonderful discovery, centrally located in Barcelona Eixample Area. Location Location Location! Walking distance to La Pedrera and La Sagrada Familia. Many restaurants and shops. Secure indoor parking was available just a few blocks away. The hotel is located on the main floor of a stately building which used to belong to one of the most prominent Catalan textile-manufacturing families in the early 20th century. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. We loved the rooftop patio, the indoor dining area for reading and relaxing. Wonderful welcoming staff. Highly recommended.

Would like to have coffee available in a main lounge area or in each room (not just at breakfast).

Clean and helpful staff. Gave us electrical adapters so we could charge our phones. Very helpful. She called a cab for us so we were on time to the airport.

I can’t say there was anything I didn’t like. My room #14 had a window into the central well which let in light but wasn’t intended to be opened but that was fine because the room was perfectly quiet but if you must be able to look out on a view, you might need to ask for a room with a view.

Not only did the arrange for a taxi to meet me at the airport and take me to the hotel ( set price 45 €) but they made getting in really simple. The room was full of lovely extras including free water, tea, coffee and cookies but chocolates to see you off to bed. The bed was a giant king sized bed with comfy linen and pillows, a nice bathroom and towels and, as I had to catch an early morning train, I couldn’t enjoy the breakfast. There is a very well appointed common area with the drinks, cookies and a vending machine should you be stay more than overnight which wasn’t the case for me. The beautiful old fashion lift was a godsend as I had one heavy bag and would not have wanted to drag it up the 25 stairs where Casa Mathilda is located on the first floor above the lobby. I would be more than happy to stay there again even though I never had the chance to meet or talk to any staff member in person. Highly recommended!

The location was excellent and very quite inside the hotel. Very easy to sleep at night no external road noise and a nice area to stay Lovley clean bedroom, very comfortable bed. The staff where extremely helpful and very friendly. They had a list of recommendations for restaurants which where all excellent and very high quality.

The building and terrace are beautiful and the staff were exceptionally nice. The bed was large and very comfortable. The place was peaceful and relaxing and close to lots of great cafes and restaurants.

Amazing location, close to several monuments and interesting areas of the city. The hotel itself is very cozy and cute, the room was clean and comfortable (very nice big bed!) and the staff was kind and welcoming. We really enjoyed our stay!

Nothing everything was good.

Such a lovely and easy stay at this peaceful haven, well situated in bustling Barcelona. Communication with the hotel was straightforward and friendly and the staff were very warm, welcoming and helpful. The room was spotless, comfortable, well equipped and serviced. The list of recommendations for food was great. The communal area and opportunity to make tea and coffee was much appreciated as was the ability to leave bags on the day of checkout. Thank you for looking after us so well and we certainly hope to return on future trips.

We liked everything

Really nice, a home from home in the busy city. Convenient for Metro and all the sights. This place has lots of character and we loved the communal space and the terrace. Will definitely stay there again.
