Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainLittle bit difficult to find, streets are so narrow,,but Curro , the owner of this established, exely his wife, came with her car and guided us to the castle. As said the welcome was great and after long drive curro walked to the local snack bar and picked up some food. Then he offered a glas local wine and that was so good I asked him to sell me 3 bottles. We like a great thank you to this excellent couple whom know what is the meaning of the wording, the extra mile in service. Thank you again and warm regards from Terry and Alejandro.

SpainNo hairdryer (keep that in mind if that is winter). And a bit dusty rooms because of the walls that are actual stones for the caste. BUT there is nothing you can do to make it cleaner. It is what it is. No matter how much you clean.
Amazing host. Freshly baked bread to smells of which you wake up in the morning. Incredible excursion that is managed by the host around the castle and into the church with a very fun performance. Small, yet cozy and interesting accommodation. And just the whole village.

Absolutely fantastic! We really loved this 13th century castle and cannot believe we were so lucky to stay there. There are no restaurants in the village but the guy kindly allowed us to picnic. Will definitely return again!

IrelandLovely breakfast, tour of the castle with it's fantastic views over the countryside was really nice. Clean and comfortable room. Quiet location. Kitchen with equipment and washing machine provided. No restaurant onsite, and the local village restaurant opens only at weekends, so if visiting during the week you would need to bring your own food and drink. It was an ideal stopover on the way to Denia from Bilbao.

United KingdomThe castle only provides breakfast- The village of Añon is tiny, and there was nowhere open to get dinner, in, or near, Añon. We had to drive 40 mins to the closest town for a supermarket.- had we been aware of this before, we could have eaten or picked up food en route. Most of the castle is given over to private dwellings. No outside space available to sit outside.
Curro, our charming host, got in touch via WhatsApp the day before with directions to help us find the Castillo. Unfortunately we still got lost as we approached from a different direction! Curro is very passionate about this quirky, historic, B and B and was kind enough to give us a tour. The first floor rooms were a good size, with spectacular views and there was a useful microwave and a fridge in one of ours.

FranceNothing.
Unique setting in a renovated castle. My kid loved it. Fantastic nature around, ideal for hiking, trail running and cycling. Curro is a great host who was happy to give us a tour of the castle. Breakfast was very tasty although not enormously varied. Parking is available on a public parking not far from the castle. Narrow stairs and steep driveway mean that loading/unloading luggage needs a little elbow grease. For a restaurant that is guaranteed open, best to go to Tarazona. I recommend the Monasterio de Veruela for a cultural visit. In all, a very nice and "authentic" couple of days stay on our way from South-West France to Valencia. Thanks Curro!

SpainThe shower never got hot enough to actually use it. We left the water running for 10 minutes but it's still wasn't warm enough. It was windy and something was banging against our window/wall but I liked it because it gave the experience a spooky feeling
Sleeping in a castle was an amazing experience. The host showed us a room full of armory and if we had stayed longer would have got a tour of the whole castle.
