Lack of cooking or kitchen type of facilities in the building, not even tea making, but there are cafes and some eateries around the area, which is offset by the price you pay for the accommodation and is worth it.

Location, location and location, plus a superb value for money. :)

I loved the building and antique lift. The location is great, 2mins from casa Batillo and all the shopping. The room itself was comfortable, the bathroom small but water pressure was great. The room is cleaned and toiletries replenished every day. Chelo and Maria were lovely, friendly and warn. As the room was ready Maria let me have it early. Chelo was so helpful with the instructions and any information i needed.

Going in and out of the place requires leaving the keys at the reception. This means that coming back late at night requires ringing the bell to be buzzed in and then be given the room key to enter the room. This process is fast and the staff does not seem to mind at all, however I felt a lot more self-conscious of the time I was coming back and the noise I was making when walking if coming back late at night - also didn't love having to ring a bell late at night when being on my own instead of being able to enter the building directly. Overall I was there for work so it was not a big issue, but I would much rather have the flexibility to take the key with me and not have to think about any of this.

The location is really great, and the room was spacious with comfortable beds. The building is a sight in inself and the staff was very nice and friendly.

It has some necessary steps at the entrance, so it's not the most accessible spot. Best suited to people with fewer bags, like most hostels. Nothing else to complain about though!

I narrowed my choices down to this location based on proximity to the metro and train stations, which is top notch. Like most hostels, it's quite simple, but this one has some extra charm. The wooden elevator is the first instance of this, but the quiet accommodations and great view out onto the street boost it. The room was night and bright, with a small but clean and modern bathroom.

Having a coffee machine for a morning brew would make this place a perfect one. Having a coffee machine in the common area that any of the residents could use would make this place even better and more appealing.

Location and the hosts were fantastic. We often came in late at night but the hosts were always welcoming. Awesome location near Placa Catalunya, easy commute from airport and Barcelona saints train station. Metro round the block. Beautiful views outside of your window. Overall a gem of a place.

However, the stay was quite pricey, which didn't reflect the value for money. The room doors didn't close well, so I could hear everything happening in the hallway or in neighboring rooms, including conversations and the noise of people carrying suitcases. One night, the noise was so disruptive that I couldn't sleep at all. While the room was clean, the towels were very worn and appeared off-white. Additionally, the room was quite small. Overall, these issues were manageable since I was staying alone for just three nights. But if I had been traveling with my partner, the lack of noise insulation and small room size would have been more problematic. These shortcomings would have been more acceptable if the prices were not as high.

The hostel's location on the Passeig de Gràcia is unbeatable, situated in the heart of Barcelona's shopping district. This made it incredibly convenient to walk to many attractions, including Casa Batlló and La Pedrera, both just a five-minute stroll away. The staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating, and even though they did not speak English, it provided a great opportunity to practice my Spanish. The hostel is housed in a beautiful historic building, adding a charming touch and allowing you to truly immerse yourself in the history of Barcelona.

Absolutely amazing staff and hotel, the location couldn't have been better: a metro stop right outside, the hotel a 10 minute walk from everything and great connects to the rest of the city. There's a 24 hour front desk and everything is very safe, clean and comfortable. Even the entrance to the hotel is gorgeous with a beautiful classic staircase and lift! It is a generally quiet building with thinner walls so you may have to be quite conscious of noise levels however considering everything that was not an issue! 10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting barcelona for the full package!

I stayed at Hostal Olivia for 3 nights and had a very nice experience. It is very centrally located, just 3 minutes away from Casa Batllo and the metro or bus station to get anywhere you want. The two ladies that attended us were very gentle and helpful!

Heat was on and the room temperature was quite high. We slept with the window open. Better hot, than cold; however would be good to save the energy.

Lovely accommodation in the heart of Barcelona - Garcia. Comfortable, clean and welcoming host. Was a pleasure to stay here! The building is very nice and the elevator felt like a time travel machine. Lovely!
