Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI think our room must have been brand new as there were some kitchen utensils still in original packaging and crockery in bubble wrap which was a bit strange. Also, only one mug, one glass, one plate etc. A coffee pot would have been good to have and maybe a couple of extra pillows in the room. The only other thing, the main door to our floor wasn't soft close so whenever people were coming and going the door would SLAM shut at all hours. So that was a bit annoying.
Excellent location and staff were helpful. Rooms were clean and fresh towels were provided.

United KingdomThe only complaint might be that some of the bathroom appliances were a little battered. I.e. handles were loose etc. Nothing major, all a part of the building's normal life as a student accomodation hall. Only real complaint is that they won't allow you two room keys, even for two people.
The accommodation is really clean and well maintained - the facilities are great. The room had a small kitchenette and fridge, but the building also had a rooftop pool, gym, and a large downstairs common kitchen.

NetherlandsThere are many foreign students living here, and they can be quite loud in the middle of the night when they come back from going out.
Great location for this price, close enough to walk to the center, or take the metro to the airport. There is a valenbisi (bike rental by app) very close by, which was perfect to get everywhere in the city. The staff was nice, and the room was very clean.

United KingdomBin wasn’t emptied on arrival- but everything else was very clean and put together.
Location was easily reachable and close to the centre, however not very close to any metro stop so a 15/20 minute walk was required. Very easy to find and lots of supermarkets and gardens nearby. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and very accommodating for a late check-in.

RomaniaThe room is quite small compared to the price and the bathroom is literally tiny. A garbage bin would be nice to have in the bathroom. Also, there was a weird chemical smell (like rat poison) coming from the bathroom, invading the room at all times.
The location is good. In nearly 10 minutes you are in the city center, on foot. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We could leave the luggage in the reception before check in time and after check out time. Access is well secured. You can enter the building only by access card. Cleaning staff was also very friendly. Despite Google reviews, the building was not noisy at all and we were specifically asked not to make any noise in the shared spaces.

GreeceThe floor of the room was not clean on any of the days of my stay, so you need slippers to walk around the room. Also they didn't changed the bedsheets during the 3 nights of my stay.
The room was very spacious for one person, in a calm and silent neighborhood and almost at a good distance from the city.

JapanAlthough the room itself is great, there were not many cooking utensils (as others have noted). In my room there was a large pot, a colander, a small chopping board, a knife and one knife, fork, spoon, as well as one mug, glass, plate and bowl). I ended up buying a frying pan at the nearby Lidl in order to be able to actually cook a meal. The stove top also sometimes shut off in the middle of cooking so you have to flick the switch on the wall to restart the breaker. As others have noted, there is no hair dryer in the room but you can borrow one from the front desk (but you can't keep it for the duration of your stay: you have to give it back after using it each time). The biggest issue was, however, noise. My room was looking onto an alley (ground floor) leading to the pavement at the front of the residence, and young people gathered from 3:30am until I left at 7am on the Friday and Saturday mornings out the front making so much noise that that I couldn't sleep. I know this isn't an issue that the staff could do anything about but if you're planning on staying over a weekend be aware that it might be very noisy.
The room itself (superior single) was great. It was a good size for one person, the bed and pillows were comfortable for me, and I was able to cook meals which helped me keep costs down. The front desk staff were friendly and the location was convenient - very close to the tram and just a 10 minute walk from the old town.

United KingdomI was given a room in a brand new wing surrounding a busy patio made of accessible rooms. The first room I was given was not finished and the maintenance man came in with me to complete some things. The toilet wasn't fixed to the floor. Thankfully my key card didn't work and after waiting 30 minutes left in my room as I couldn't get back in if i left, I asked to be moved to a new one. The replacement was just next door and again accessible. It might work well for a wheelchair user but as a 5'4" ambulatory person it was not suitable. The bathroom is a wet room and after a shower this is an apt name. There was an inch of water literally all over the floor and does not dry around the toilet until the cleaner comes in. Surprisingly it didn't leak into the bedroom. The shower head cannot be adjusted, without holding it in one hand. The main bedroom door doesn't have a locking mechanism on the inside so as a solo traveller I did not feel safe. They do not have safes or lockers so valuables in the room are at risk. The patio is very noisy with people enjoying themselves til late at night, though the stated curfew is at 2300. The fridge in the room was constantly incredibly noisy, like a generator. The pillow was so springy it kept me awake, the aircon isn't stable at one temperature and fluctuates around too hot and too cold without touching the controls and i had to have the maintenance man in again to turn off the fuse to the aircon to restart it as it went by itself to 30°C. We are given a brand new non stick frying pan but only metal knife fork and spoon to use in it. The bed has a small sharp cornered shelf in the head end corner on which I hit my head in the night.
Location is good - 30 minutes walk to Metro Turia or the Station de la Nord. Staff were helpful The single room was a decent size Maintenance did turn up quickly (and often required)
