How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Staff were rude and had no interest in other clients breaking the rules and bothering guests. Rooms are a little compact with very limited space for possessions.

The internate and the staff are open to the customers

There was a smell in the room, maybe due to water, maybe something else but the room could not get fresh air.

The bed it bit narrow, even it is soft.
It is really cheap with good value for money, also the location is really good I can access many attractions of Madrid. The breakfast was really tasty as well.

Didn’t have Air condition they didn’t have towels didn’t have soap and shampoo. Bathroom didn’t have black cars like us force. My package is not working one of the windows handle broke didn’t open Night Shift have attitude. breakfast is not good.

The male staff is really not helping the guest and giving wrong information. We ask if there is a luggage storage in the Atocha train station and he said yes. He is not allowing us to store our luggage their after our check out even if we are willing to pay and they have lots of storage luggage available. Like I only need to store my luggage for 3 hours but he is insisting we can't keep it there so it become so much of a hassle for us. Will not recommend this hostel with my friends.
The location is great as it is in the city center. the room has its own toilet and its very spacious. they have elevator also so its easier especially if you have luggage with you.

If all you need is a bed to sleep on, this place is enough. The beds are all stacked together in a really small space. The locker is only enough for a backpack (and you'll need to bring your own lock.) The bathroom had nothing except some hand soap next to the sink. The shower stall didn't even have a little stand to put your soap/shampoo on. No towels. No hooks on the door for your clothes, you'll just have to keep it on the closed toilet seat or something.
It's in a very central location. There was a private bathroom for just the six people in the room, and it was fairly clean. Breakfast was included.

The instructions from the personnel could be more full.

I visited Madrid during winter time and the hotel would turn off the heater at 2am. We were freezing all night because the heater stopped working. The internet is really really bad, poor. We pretty much had no internet. We actually connected to El Corte Ingles wifi (local retail store across the street) because the wifi from the hotel only works downstairs at the front desk. The breakfast is included, however, it was just coffee and a few slices of bread, that’s it. The elevator is in terrible condition, staff not really helpful or friendly. The rooms are not very clean or tidy.
The ONLY thing that I really liked about this place is the location, that’s it. Great location! 5 min walk from Gran Via metro station, a few blocks away from Puerta del Sol. Great commercial area (really noisy though!)

A door to the room makes a lot of noise. My bad was making noise. Some power outlets are broken or/and far away from the bed. The elevator in the building wasn't working for some time. Somehow, some sections of the heat were cold.

It’s a really huge hostel, so there’s always some people arriving and departing on the reception, thus the queues upon arrival. And still there’s barely any common area so it’s not a best place to socialize, except your roommates. After check-out baggage storage for 5€.
Amazing location, friendly stuff. I think it’s not that bad as it seems form the reviews, the rooms are very simple but at least each (my room was just 2 bunk beds) has its own bathroom.
