Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainTheir website promised complementary breakfast for all guests (with no restrictions) but we were denied the free breakfast. When we claimed the breakfast and pointed out the website statement, they said that was only in the summer, told us the website would be updated, and offered us two croissants and coffee for one day, which I feel is a poor substitute for 8 full breakfasts… Teo weeks later, the web hasn’t been updated so it’s starting to feel deliberately misleading to say: “A wonderful and nutritious healthy breakfast is offered to every guest, every day” and “Breakfast is complimentary and is served between 7am and 11am.”
The facilities were great!

United StatesThe spa doesn't have enough hooks or chairs to hang our personal belongings or towels. I was expecting to have a hot jacuzzi outside.
Great service. Truly appreciated how they took care of my request and communicated via WhatsApp.

United KingdomNeeded some little tables and cushions for the outside seating areas.
The location is perfect for Cala Llonga, and just a short stroll from the beach and lots of places to eat. We were exploring the island by car, so it was really easy to get around. We were lucky enough to eat at Amante one evening, which is just a 10 minute walk from The Olive. We loved our apartment. We had the penthouse, which had a double terrace. It was difficult to get a measure of what the rooms would be like, but we were pleased with our stay. We didn't really make use of the private roof terrace, as we used our own terrace when we came back from the beaches or being out each day. Oh, and we need to mention the bed and the pillows...so comfy! We're looking for the same pillows at home now, as we couldn't fit them in our case! We also didn't make use of the pool, but the pool area and facilities look great. The spa is lovely. I was able to use it for myself early morning, and had a lovely peaceful time. The sauna and jacuzzi are wonderful and everything is kept so well maintained and clean. The gym looked great too. Breakfast is a simple affair of a lovely granola dish and whatever toasts, teas and coffee you would like. The staff are so attentive and friendly. If we wanted anything cooked, we used the facilities in our room. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the Olive and in Ibiza.

United KingdomWe booked a room with a 'private roof terrace' -- from the photos, it looked like this was adjoined to our room (again, having a young child, we figured we could put her to bed and then step out onto our roof terrace while she fell asleep). I'd not quite appreciated that the 'private roof terrace' was accessed by going back out into the communal corridor, up a lift, and onto the roof of the building. The roof is then divided into what can only be described as about 10 'pens' with low walls, so you have a small semi-private area with sun loungers for your own use. Needless to say, we didn't use this given how gorgeous the pool is, and we had a small balcony, so we could have booked a cheaper room without this option if we'd realized. it's not to take anything away from the stay, just don't book the option if you won't use this set-up.
Gorgeous boutique apartments in Ibiza, with fabulous, chilled-out staff and clientele, mostly couples and young families. The apartment was comfortable and modern, our daughter slept on the fold-out sofa bed in the lounge area, we were able to close the door to the master bedroom (heading to the property, it was not overly clear from photos if we could do this or not). It's in a quiet part of the island, which is lovely, but it does mean most of our outings to beach clubs, the markets, sunset bars etc were a 20-30min drive each day. Breakfast was great and the staff were kind and engaging, I know some reviews said it was limited, but they cook it by the pool with no kitchen, so you're offered a tea/coffee/hot chocolate, a bowl of granola, fruit and yoghurt, plus your choice of toast (jamon and cheese, tomato and cheese, avocado, salmon) OR a sweet option (chocolate croissant, nutella on toast etc). It was well-balanced and set us up nicely each day. We'd stay again in a heartbeat.

GermanyWe really enjoyed our stay, however there are a few little things which could be improved: the breakfast was very, very simple especially considering the price; the cupboard of the apartment was tiny and definitely too small for 2 people; the bathrooms were very simple with some details missing (holder for toilet paper, my husband thought this was worth mentioning); some basic neccessities in the apartment such salt and pepper would be great; the cushions were pretty uncomfortable. But as mentioned - these were rather small things, we‘d definitely recommend Hotel Olive.
The staff was super professional and friendly! The hotel itself as well as the pool area was really cozy, pretty and aesthetic. The location of the hotel is perfect, just a short walk away from the beach and with supermarkets and restaurants nearby. Great pick for couples and/or families.

United KingdomThe pillows weren’t comfy, needs to be a clothes dryer and table on the terrace. I was under the impression that there would be spa treatments available, but there was only a small indoor pool/jacuzzi. Cold outdoor pools need heating prior to mid summer. Expensive (like all of Ibiza)

United KingdomBar area closed at 330pm so couldn't get drinks/food after this time - but this may be because we went slightly out of season. Showers in room were lovely but hot water only lasted 5 mins.
The hotel is beautiful - the suites are generous sizes with big terraces. Staff were so friendly and welcoming. Pool area is beautiful and clean with a view of the hills. Breakfast was delicious every morning eaten by the pool. Literally 2 min walk to beach/restaurants. Ideal for families.

NetherlandsThe distance to Ibiza town, you really need a car for this trip and the road is not very comfortable. This has nothing to do with the hotel but I want to be fair to future travellers. This is literally the only downside, this stay is good!
The stay was very clean and the staff are very friendly and committed, it has a spa and breakfast every day. The rooms are nice and have a balcony with sun beds for when you want to relax in the sun for a day, there is also a lovely pool. The area is very quiet but that's nice! Plenty of parking spaces for cars at the hotel (free). It is within walking distance of Cala Llonga Beach and has several drinking/dining options there. An extra plus for the staff, especially Simone and Simone (two different ladies). They give you a warm feeling and try to make you feel as comfortable as possible. We were here in February and will definitely come here again when it's summer.
