How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

It was dusty in the room. The street is noisy so you probably couldn’t sleep with the open window, but the room is quite big and a/c works well, so it wasn’t a problem for us.
Great location, easy check-in and checkout, good mattress, blackout curtains, nice to have fresh pastries for a little breakfast (although it’s from 9am only)

Property was beautiful and super convenient. Greeted by the loveliest staff member who showed me around and even offered good recommendations for things to do. Felt very secure and I would visit again.

Big rooms and bathrooms. Clean and quiet place. 5 minutes walk to plaza catalunya which is where the aerobus to airport stops, very near metro and lots of restaurants nearby

Needed dusting.
Pablo was very knowledgeable and available for questions. Apartment was very spacious, including a nice outdoor area. The location is very convenient to shopping and eating.

Beautiful boutique hotel, close to many attraction. Beautiful huge room with balcony. Nice little patio & common areas. Tastefully decorated. The staff were exceptionally helpful, friendly & kind. Paolo and Camille both beautiful people. Highly recommend!

Requested 2 separate beds but had to insist on having an additional bed set up when we arrived because room had only one large bed. Staff was very helpful in setting up additional bed

Limited directions to get to location. Went around twice before realizing the entrance to the hotel.
Location was great for exploring the areas. The staff is friendly and helpful- helping us with the luggage and calling the cab. A nice touch to have a coffee and some pastries in the little room.

Street noise. Our room was street side and voices and traffic would wake you in the morning
Plenty of space in the room. Big towels which I appreciate! A nice complimentary breakfast of pastries, juice and coffee The location was good, could walk to some attractions or easy on the metro

The bathroom needs some minor maintenance work.

That staff wasn’t present after 5-6 pm. Impossible to buy any drinks or food. That the elevator only served every other storey. Staff,however, moved our heavy luggage like champions. We couldn’t get any TV channel then a Disney in Spanish.

The street noise can get a little loud if you are a light sleeper. However, if you keep the windows closed at night it shouldn't be a problem or bring earplugs.
The Violeta was such a pleasant surprise. The location was perfect and bed was so comfortable after walking 20,000 steps through the vibrant streets of Barcelona. Friendly staff and yummy pastries for breakfast was just the icing on the cake.

The bed headboard made some creacking noise when moving, probably due to it was attached to the wall. The isolation in between rooms might be improved; we kind of heard what was going on in some of the other rooms (or maybe above?) and woke up to a guy chanting "Om" for 15 minutes at 8 AM (we were on vacation).
The location is great: it is two blocks away from Catalunya square. The room has plenty of space and is equipped with windows to reduce the street noise. The bed is comfortable and the bathroom has plenty of space too. The staff contacted us before arrival to coordinate check-in and was very friendly.

Nothing! Loved it!
Stayed for 1 night and we regretted for not having more evenings here. Filipo was extremely friendly and helpful from the beginning of our stay, providing us directions to Barcelona’s best routes for tourists. The location is excellent, 5 minutes to La Rambla, and the bed was very comfortable. There is a nespresso coffee machine in the room, and small but fulfilling breakfast was provided. Highly recommended if you are visiting Barcelona.

You can hardly find a better place to visit Barcelona! In a very center of a town (close to Catalunya sq.). Very nice and helpfull staff. Quiet - no sounds of town at all! Complimentary coffee, juice and choice of sweet croisants in the morning.
