Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Property was well situated to restaurants and shops close by. It was a short walk down to the waterfront area. We enjoyed quick meals down in the food hall.

Excellent location, very fancy deco, good size room even we stayed in the -1 floor which has no windows but we still feel comfortable. We also asked a connecting room when we booked it as we’re 4 adults and we got it, 👍🏻

EstoniaThe room was not very clean, including a large disgusting stain of some sort of liquid on the wall. We booked a room for 4 people but there were only linen and blankets/pillows for 2. Had to ask to bring more.
Best of the best location, friendly staff, amazing breakfast which was exceeding all the expectation. On site parking. Was possible to check in earlier.

GermanyThe bathroom. It‘s impossible to take a shower without flooding the whole bathroom. Water runs along the bathtub and down to the floor. There is a gap between the shower-wall and the bathtub which leads to even more water on the bathroom floor. We tried everything. Even squatting while taking a shower, but results were the same.
Visually pleasing, very friendly staff, quiet rooms.

FinlandThe toilet sink (the plug) was not working properly. The water was splashing from the shower. After having nuts from the fridge, they were not replaced on the next day. The design of the chair is very poor meaning that it was very easy to hit your foot on it and stumble.
The reakfast was good. The location is excellent.

GermanyThe design of the shower and sink, it’s nice looking but not too practical. When showering the whole bathroom gets wet.
The location is right in the center, we were right in the middle of everything. The bed was very comfy. They have a small, well equipped gym and a big sauna. The body wash, hand soap etc. that the provided smelled wonderful. The towels are huge, that’s also a big plus. The 24/7 reception, we checked out super early and it was hassle free and fast.

GermanyLUGGAGE SCALE: The only thing I was missing was a scale to weigh the suitcase. Unfortunately, I had excess luggage on the return journey because I had bought a lot of Finnish bread and sweets. :) So a luggage scale would be great. PRO TIP - ROOM LOCATION: The building consists of two parts. Smokers are better off booking a room in the main building rather than the Yrjönkatu building. To get to the Yrjönkatu building you have to walk a very long way in the hotel and use 2 different elevators, it takes several minutes. If you book the main Building, you just have to use a single elevator and you'll be out in seconds. You see it in the description "room type", if the room is in the "wrong" part. If nothings stated there, it's the main building. This is an insider tip ;)
Everything was great, very friendly staff, clean, quiet room facing the inner courtyard. Nice bathroom. There is a very large fitness area and two saunas with long opening hours, separated for men and women. On the days I was there there were usually no other guests there. The breakfast was also very good. There were even gluten-free options and a wide range of healthy foods. The location is very good, you can reach shops and attractions quickly. I really enjoyed it and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Slovenia-breakfast was well prepared but monotonous. If you stay for two nights, then this is OK, but we stayed for five nights and it was really boring. Every day the same. -the rooms got cleaned only in the afternoon..so if you want to stay in the room for the afternoon (doing some work stuff)..then you need to be ready to leave the room when the cleaning staff comes -I was missing one or two more chairs in the room, and a bit more spacious desk
-staff extra friendly and supportive -cleanliness of all parts of apartment was just perfect -location is great -ice machine at every floor is superb -for such price, a bar should be included in the price

United KingdomAny guest with a luggage room keycard can access the luggage room, instead of it being staff only, which made me a little nervous leaving my suitcase there.
I loved this hotel! The location is perfect; a short walk to the train station and to pretty much everything in the city. Tram stops are right outside, as are major shops and attractions. The hotel is beautiful and very clean. Don’t be put off staying in a room without windows - I slept the best I’ve ever slept at a hotel. The room was absolutely gorgeous and the bathroom was as functional as it was nice looking - I liked the black and gold theme and the night light which means you don’t have to turn on all the lights if you get up in the night. I really liked being able to play YouTube through the TV, and being able to choose from pillows of different softness. Having a different type of light on each side of the bed was good too. My room was directly under the hotel entrance and adjacent to the lifts yet it was extremely quiet. I would definitely stay here again. Extremely good value for money in Helsinki. I wish I’d got to try the bar and cafe while I was there.

United KingdomThe toilet felt a little small, and the room I was assigned was quite a distance away from the main lobby.
The room was spacious and the air-conditioning system was excellent. Though the view was not the best, the hotel's location is great as it is right in front of a tram stop and a short walking distance away from the Helsinki Central train station. Breakfast was a very wide selection of food and it was all good-quality.

United StatesThe breakfast was expensive on top of the already overpriced rooms. The rooms could use an update and seemed very dusty, maybe because everything was black and shiny gold it showed up more. Very noisy at night, had to put ear plugs in because music was pounding until 5am! The sink drain in the bathroom smelled awful! Almost like when a garbage disposal in the kitchen sink gets funky! I expected better for paying near $800 for 5 nights! The only great thing was the staff!
The staff was very nice and accommodating. Spoke perfect English thankfully because my Finnish skills are note good! I try. The sauna and showers were very nice and clean. Breakfast was expensive, I did like the variety they offered though. The location was perfect. I would like to say thank you to the wonderful staff!
