How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Basically nothing! It was great!
Beautiful, comfortable space! It was easy to get to the city centre by bus. Quiet neighborhood, kind host, and a space that has everything you could want. We only stayed for 2 nights but could have easily stayed much longer.

There was nothing I could fault
Perfect for our needs, everything was lovely. Close to everywhere we wanted to go and so nice to not have to worry about finding parking particularly in Bath.

The property was in an ideal location both my partner and I were able to walk to the city centre and to the shops. Ed was so welcoming on arrival and showed us to the apartment and was even there to wave us off goodbye Saturday morning. The facilities were all good and just what we needed to make our stay comfortable and really pleasant. We were able to use the TV and streaming devices, the kitchen was fully equipped, the bathroom was very clean and the shower was lovely and warm. My partner and I both slept very comfortably too! Overall a very pleasant stay!

Everything was great, the frying pan is a bit dodgy & no salt and Pepper in the shakers but very minor.
Loved Ed! What a legend. Access to Netflix. Easy walk to centre for half marathon. Milk / coffee available for my boyfriend. Parking space on the drive.

Just an idea... might be nice to add a squeegee to the bathroom to remove the water after shower.
The location of the apartment is very convenient, host is a lovely person and facilities work perfectly fine.

Quiet, comfortable annexe with everything you need. The heating was very efficient, which was perfect during our stay. Good location as not far from the city but we were there for hospital appointments so it was perfectly appointed for us.

The garden of the annexe is shared with the main property and there are no curtains in the livingroom so we felt there was a slight lack of privacy. The curtains in the bedroom weren't blackout curtains so we woke up pretty early as well.
The host was super friendly and helpful. The property itself was lovely, very well presented and clean. Really close to city centre (less than 10 minutes drive) in a quiet residential location.

A self-contained apartment which was comfortable and had all the facilities required for a short or long stay. It was clean and well maintained.Our host was attentive and friendly providing us with local advise. The welcome pack was informative and helpful and added advantage of parking facilities. A little way out of the city but walkable and public transport close by. Local amenities in close proximity to the property.

Ed the lovely host was there to meet us on arrival with the keys and a quick tour of the apartment. Told us useful information regarding public transport, local amenities and eateries then left us to get on with our stay. There was a very handy information pack with instructions for all of the appliances, telephone numbers for taxi firms and menus for local takeaways and pubs. There were also leaflets for nearby tourist attractions.
