Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomPaying extra £100 for hot tub. Sofa bed a bit too small and soft (could do with topper)
Excellent location away from hustle and bustle of business but short drive from many beautiful locations. Beautiful walks across the golf course. Good facilities in the cottage which is nicely decorated. It was great for family of 2 adults and 2 young children plus doggie. Tho in my opinion a bit too small if you had 4 adults there. Hot tub and bbq it’s a nice addition, tho both could do with upgrades.

United KingdomIt really is such a wondeful place to stay. The host is friendly and makes you feel at home. The views, the location and the lodge itself really is spectacular. The only thing is the price of the hot tub is quite steep! However the hot tub is very clean, super warm and brilliant. Thanks again we will be back !

United KingdomThink the hot tub needed cleaning out as a lot of limescale was coming out of the jets which left grazes on us. I know it said they had hard water but we live not far away and have the same water but not had this problem anywhere else before. Also, if I was to be really picky there was a dishwasher in the lodge which was great but no dishwasher tablets, salt, rinse aid for it.
The breakfast was lovely and had everything you could want or need in a breakfast! It was so peaceful and quiet, location was exactly what we were looking for. The price was brilliant for the space and little extras provided. Questions were answered quick, more than happy to help with anything. The lodge was clean and tidy.

United KingdomIt didn’t feel very clean, particularly kitchen utensils & corners of the rooms.
We loved our stay at cherry orchard lodge. It was the perfect relaxed getaway that we were looking for. It was a remote little lodge on a farm, only surrounded by horses! Great hot tub, although this is charged at an extra price Lovely pub (the kings arms) about a 20 minute walk away but not open during the week, although Bradford-On-Avon is only a couple of miles away & is a lovely town.

United KingdomUnfortunately the second bed wasn't made up for us when we got there, but then Rosie rectified this for us in time for our second night. We stayed two nights, but we would have struggled any more than that because the sofa bed was quite uncomfortable.
The cottage is beautiful and the setting is stunning. Our children loved the hot tub and Rosie was very friendly and showed us the horses too.

United KingdomI am quite accident prone and the bedroom is in the eves, on the first night I hit my head twice getting in and out of bed, then got my head on the beam going down the stairs, then tripped over the beam at the side of the bed. The bed was lovely and comfy but it’s a really small area with limited height. We slept on the sofa bed the next night as I didn’t want to risk upstairs after a few cocktails :) I had real trouble doing my hair for dinner on Saturday as no mirror anywhere near a plug socket, the only mirror is in the bathroom. I had to improvise with my mobile phone on selfie mode. I ended up buying a mirror in bath on Saturday. It would be handy to have a small mirror in the basket with the hairdryer. No complimentary toiletries which would have been nice, especially as we forgot to pack shower gel. Hot tub not included in price. I didn’t book as we were unlikely to use it and £100 is quite a lot.
We have stayed at Cherry Orchard before in the suite and booked the lodge this time. The area is beautiful and it’s a 20 min walk to the Long Arms pub which does amazing cocktails and has a Michelin star restaurant. The lodge is beautiful and the views are amazing. Lovely hamper with some essentials which was a nice touch. BBQ and outdoor seating is nice for the summer months. Private parking and lots of privacy

United KingdomTwo things need raising. First point We booked via Booking.com as there was an option for cash payment. A few days before then arrival I was asked to satisfy a percentage of the transaction, which I didn’t mind and end up paying the lot on trust as Rosie was very communicative. However, booking.com didn’t have any stipulation to say it had to be paid before the event just cash payment on arrival. To conclude, I paid in advance as I didn’t want to lose out on the property so close to the arrival day. If she doesn’t like cash payment options l, they shouldn’t be presented on Booking.com?! Second Point Read the below which summarising the event well and these questions remain unanswered responses to this day. Not very professional especially as we paid £100 for the hot tub for 2 nights stay and one of them we couldn’t use it!! Sent 21st Jan (that night) Hi Rosie we went to use the HotTub at 21:00 and it was cold. Well 30 Degrees. We changed it to 40 and it’s 22:30 and only moved 2 degrees. Unfortunately this doesn’t meet our expectations and conversion we had where the hot tub will be warm by 20:00, so we’ve lost this evening. Can we arrange for £50 to be refunded as we’ve paid for a service for a day that cannot be used. (Sent the following morning) Morning Rosie We checked the Hot Tub at 07:00AM this morning and it was a lovely 40 degrees. We’ve turned it down to a hot tubs average temperature of 36-38 degrees and will leave it there for the remainder of our stay. Let me know if we’ve done the right thing?
Beautiful setting, loverly location and was perfect apart from the points raised below which were a shame.
