Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

BelgiumShower wasn’t great (no cold water, only hot) and leaking instead of showering ). We were 4 of us and all we got was one tiny bottle of shampoo and shower gel. Not each, only 2 tiny bottles for the four of us (is this how they save water?) Window was unable to fully close (could hear the street throughout the night). WiFi never worked, so had to use our 4G the full time we were there.

United KingdomOur room had skylight but it was on 3rd floor with very narrow stairs. Getting the luggage upstairs with no lift or help from staff was very hectic. Rooms were very smelly, so the moved us into another one which was also a bit smelly. Toilet was always smelling due to some reason. There was no hot water available in the shower throughout our stay. In fact sometimes the water totally stopped coming out of the taps and showers. The shower door was broken. It was a horrible experience. I won’t recommend staying here. We booked a room for 4 people and the room wasn’t even spacious enough. The towels were smelly. Slippers weren’t provided. Freezer wasn’t cold enough for the ice we put in so it melted.

United KingdomEvery time I walked in to my room it smelled as if the room below had been smoking cigarettes. I kept my window open the whole time assuming it was just a previous guest but every time I opened the door to my room it just smelled like cigarettes. I didn't get a chance to speak to anyone about it when leaving my key but this was the only issue
The location was great to be out of the busy areas but close enough to walk back. Comfy bed. Own bathroom. Toiletries and towels provided. Friendly helpful staff.

United KingdomThe window worried me as I was carrying instruments etc with me (I'm a musician) although I was assured no-one would break in.
The location is handy - this is one of several hotels situated along the Shepherd;s Bush Road, a short walk from Hammersmith tube and King Street. I had to check in two doors down - but this is also the case with other hotels in this area. The room was large and comfortable and I had been upgraded which was nice - really it was great value for the £43 I paid. However the window didn't close as the latch wa broken - I asked about changing rooms but the room offered was much smaller. Annoyingly the fire alarm went off TWICE - once at 10.30 at night and once at 5.30 in the morning. I was awake in any case both times - but wondered if guests had been smoking in their rooms.

United KingdomThe toilet seat was detached which made going to the toilet difficult. Our keycard stopped working at one point, luckily it was during they day so the staff were still available to fix it. The room was just overall rundown but it’s all superficial damage which didn’t cause too many issues.
They came in and cleaned thoroughly every day. Staff were very nice and asked us if things were good multiple times. Rooms were spacious and beds were comfortable.

good location, 10 min walk to tubes and local shops, if you come out the hotel turn left couple mins walk there a chippy called what the fish very highly recommended ,we had 2 double beds, it had tea and coffee facilities and was relatively clean enough.
