Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaFacilities like a/c and lift where a bit run down, and room size left us feeling a bit cramped.

AustraliaThe bed was quite uncomfortable, and very noisy when rolling over. Otherwise, we opted out of cleaning services in favour of a green stay, and a free drink per day, but despite this, the cleaner knocked on the door (we had a sign asking them not to), and insisted she come in the room to change our bed sheets. I was in my pyjamas talking to her, and my partner was still in bed. I insisted we did not need her service, and she looked at her clipboard, told me it hadn’t been done for a few days (we stayed for 4 nights and this happened on day 3) and she insisted she come in to change the linens. I again said no, and she questioned me on it again. I had to refuse four times before she finally left us alone, and she tutted and shook her head as I closed the door. I wonder if she would have just cleaned the room despite the sign, had we not been in the room that day. We didn’t let staff know, as we did not feel comfortable mentioning it while we were still guests, as we continued to see the same housekeeper multiple times while we were there. I am sure the hotel would have been helpful with this if we had raised the issue, but again, we didn’t feel comfortable while we were still there.
The reception staff were lovely, and gave 1 free drink of any choice per day, if we opted out of house keeping, for a ‘green’ stay. The location was excellent, being very close to Earls Court Underground, buses, and plenty of food and convenience stores in walking distance. Also very close to a laundromat. The hotel also offered discounts off nearby businesses.

United KingdomThe woman when we first arrived was not friendly and could barely understand her and she seemed irritated. They didn’t change our sheets and just used the same ones from the night before , I know this as there was a stain from the day before. I wouldn’t recommend staying longer than 2 days there, good location to the tubes and area, showers were good.
Was nice inside and good location

United KingdomPrice is really expensive for a small single room. Almost £100.00 per night and the room is super small. I have been travelling in all Europe and I never pay this price for a single room. And this is not a hotel, is like a hostel.
Location and staff are great. Staff is super nice and helpful. They will make your stay be very good.

MacaoThe walls are quite thin especially where a door separates the individual rooms, so sounds from neighboring rooms are quite audible.
The room was small but comfortable. The hotel has a nice green incentive where you get a free drink for the day you request not to have your room cleaned.

United KingdomTiny room, attic room so couldn’t see out, nor open the window, gurgling noisy air-conditioning unit - we couldn’t sleep due to the noises coming out of it. Turned it off - could barely breathe due to being so hot in the room. Difficult to walk around the beds due to the small size of the room. Could hear neighbours talking - so no sound-proofing. Will go back to Premier inn or travel lodge as more standardised.
Quiet street. Close to Earl’s Court Tube station.

Poland- We got a room under the stairs which resulted in very tiny space which almost felt claustrophobic - The view was on some dirty terrace filled with rubbish with no natural light. Also there was another window super close to ours so it didn’t feel like we had much privacy - The ‘sopha bed’ for my brother was just a bed folding out from an armchair which was so small that he had to put an additional chair under his legs - It was moderately clean but the room had a weird smell - The price was ridiculous for this standard but i guess it’s just london prices
- Location was great - Staff was super nice - It was great that there’s a free luggage storage

TurkeyWe stayed at a family room; however it wasn't like that. There was an extra bed in the same room.
Great location! The bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. We didn't spend so much time at the hotel, so the size of the room wasn't a big problem for us. The receptionist( don't remember his name) was kind and helpful. He did his best to fix the problem with the air-conditioner.
