Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LuxembourgHaven Hall is magnificent, a real home away from home, a spiritual gateway to a bygone age. The interior design is gorgeous: tastefully restored period furniture from the Edwardian era, charming soft cushions, an exquisitely crafted wooden fireplace from 1906, lovely lampshades everywhere, crystal chandeliers, splendid mantel clocks, model sailboats. From the outside you hear a gentle, trickling sound from a water fountain, coupled with the occasional calls of seagulls. However, when windows are closed, your room is absolutely quiet, you have a perfect serenity, I always had such a good night’s sleep. The garden is incredible: manicured lawns, flowers in full blossom, lavish palm trees, sweeping panoramic views to the sea. Birds and butterflies everywhere. Not even on the Mediterranean have I seen such a beautiful landscape. David and Arielle’s hospitality is second to none. Whenever I sent an inquiry before my arrival, they always replied within minutes. I was welcomed like a privileged friend in their house, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was the highlight of my days. When I mentioned how much I had liked Arielle’s home-made banana bread during my previous stay, she kindly prepared one for the next day, even though it was not yet on the breakfast menu of the season. It was heavenly delicious with rhubarb custard and lemon curd, I could enjoy it every single day. I also adored their Eggs Royale with warm sauce hollandaise. This was my third stay here, but I have already made a new booking for September. I’m ever so happy and proud to have found such a blissful retreat on a fairy-tale island. I simply can’t have enough of this magical world. Highly recommend.

United KingdomHaving to book a time/ food for breakfast the day before?? Bar prices were ridiculous to say you had to make it yourself(pub prices where you get it made for you)???? Overpriced for a B&B (not hotel no food after 1100am).
Breakfast was really good. Friendly staff. Very clean room.

LuxembourgHaven Hall is amazing. Deeply touched my soul, I’m still enchanted by it. Originally I booked the Tennyson room, but David was kind enough to upgrade me to the Sailboats Suite, which was marvelous. All the glamorous reviews are absolutely justified. With my humble photos I’m just trying to do justice to the place, but you really need to see it to believe it. Highly recommend it, I can’t wait to return.

United KingdomThe only thing I would say is that in GS4 (garden suit 4) a plug socket by the dressing table would be much easier that to keep moving the bedside table to plug in phone charger, hair dryer and straighteners etc. Its not a big problem, just an idea.
The owners are super amazing, couldn't do enough for us, gave us lots of tips and ideas about the Island. The staff are 2nd to none, so polite, friendly and helpful, the chefs cook the most amazing breakfast, the homemade lemon curd and honey is a must. The attention to detail is insane, the lady of the manor certainly has an eye for interior design. Our apartment was luxurious, clean and had everything we needed and more. The air con was a life saviour as it was so hot outside. The grounds have won best hotel gardens 4 years in a row and I can see why, they are manicured to an inch of their life, so beautiful, with the panoramic back drop of the sea, you feel like your abroad. Very romantic. Great swimming pool with clean towles and beautiful showers. All in all you get what you pay for and more.

United KingdomIf I must point to potential improvements I would suggest ability to book a slightly later breakfast slot (past 930 am) or to get a drink after 10 pm :-), some fresh fruit in the room, the option to get sandwiches made for a lunch time picnic - these would be perhaps easy to implement touches to further enhance the experience
Superb location (easy to get to, best to have a car), lovely gardens and views, small but perfect swimming pool well equipped with towels, showers and honesty bar, confortabile room (Charles Darwin) with very quiet air con, good plumbing and plenty of coffee and tea with nice crunchy biscuits, very good breakfast choices (to be selected the day before), welcoming check in and check out by the host without pressure to leave immediately at check out time, useful information provided on dinner options, easy and enjoyable walk to the beach, excellent cleaning and general upkeep, welcoming staff, environmental conscious use of solar panels etc - overall this was a very relaxing enjoyable stay
