How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Nothing. There are lovely animals at the farm. How would people not like this place?
The room was clean and comfortable. The host was very kind and informative about where to visit. The breakfast was exceptional. It was a perfect stay.

Excellent host, room, furnishings at a wonderful well maintained farm. So friendly and helpful. Beautiful room and large sumptuous bed. Away from any bustle and traffic, a wonderful secluded location. Plan to come again!

An absolutely lovely B&B with the best breakfast we ever had in a B&B. The location was fantastic and quiet. The rooms were very nice and cozy, well equipped, and had a nice bathroom. The host was very friendly and we felt treated like family members.

There was nothing we did not like.
From the moment we landed at Headgate Farm, the proprietor Jude made us welcome. The relaxed first class feeling, the crisp white bedding on the comfiest of beds, the views across the land was picture perfect. After the best night's sleep, breakfast was plentiful, using fresh local products, an array of choice ranging from fresh fruit, yogurts, cerals, cooked breakfast in any form required. Coffee and tea, was the finest products Ive ever had in a B&B. Jude was the perfect host, very much knowledgeable of the local area's of interest, pointed us in the direction of the the best local eateries. An excellent accomadation, which deserves the highest awards. Highly Recommended.

Breakfast was excellent ,lots of knowledge of surrounding area which was offered over breakfast even a map drawn great touch. Found some excellent places to visit which we wouldn't have known about with out this help. Great advice on where to eat in the evening none of which disappointed. Overall great base to explore from clean and tidy and very friendly helpful, will return if able to book.

Although we were extremely happy staying here there is one point concerning the shower/bath.We felt a hand hold would be a good idea for less agile people. It was not a problem for us.
Such a pleasant reception on arrival. Wonderful rural location which is what we are used to.We had a marvellous breakfast each morning.So many super places to visit including really great pubs and restaurants.

Our bedroom was so comfortable and cozy and spotlessly clean. The breakfast so fresh , cooked using local produce. Judy made us feel at home and has the most amazing calm presence about her!

We absolutely loved our stay here and will definitely return. It is set in a more rural location on a working farm, we found it really relaxing, warm and cosy. The hosts were amazing and made us feel really welcome. Breakfast was absolutely fantastic, really enjoyed it. Our room was perfect with a huge comfortable bed and a lovely deep bath that over looked the fields. There is nothing more we could have wanted to celebrate our engagement, thank you!

It was well situated to visit many places. Judy was very friendly and gave us lots of tips for places to visit. The breakfast was excellent. We would definitely stay here again if visiting the same area.
