Main light in room and bedside lights were all connected so couldn’t have bedside lights on. Could not get plug out to drain water in sink. Parking was at the back of property so had to drag suitcases up stairs. When my daughter and I went to go out there was a function on so we couldn’t go out the back we had to walk all the way round.

We didn't eat at the hotel so can't comment on the food.

Our shower was very noisy which we didn't mind but thought other residents might have been disturbed. When we mentioned this at your Reception desk on our departure, the staff member was extremely helpful and courteous and said he'd look into it and gave us a token for a reduction on future booking. Excellent customer service.

Room a little small as we were in the top part of the hotel and therefore we had a sloping beam just above one side of the bed which we had to keep trying to avoid. Also there was a damp smell in the room and think it was from the sink and the toilet could do with looking at as the water was running constantly. Probably only a simple job of adjusting the ball cock! However this did not detract from the overall comfort of our stay.

The staff were friendly and polite and breakfast very good value. Everything was as expected and location particularly good. We had an enjoyable stay. Thank you.

Can hear some things in adjacent room/s so if in time more soundproofing could be done that would be good. However was quiet when we wanted to sleep so that was fine. I think the hotel is in the process of improving all of the rooms and areas in the hotel but is very acceptable as it is now.

Quirky small hotel with boutique feel. Nice bar and breakfast areas, lots of art and pictures everywhere. Clean and warm, nice breakfast, very friendly and welcoming staff. Value for money. Very modern bathroom. Nice view out to the sea and coast from window in our room. It is an old building so have to expect some original features such as high ceilings and uneven floors but that adds to the quirky atmosphere. We paid for parking and glad we did as made it really convenient as street parking more challenging depending on time of day. Would stay again.

Arguably Exmouth's oldest hotel. The composer Franz Liszt was a guest there. Splendidly located high up on the Beacon. Tastefully modernised throughout, large elegant breakfast room served a good breakfast, My room was spacious with a view through trees towards the coast. Comfortable bed and excellent bathroom which looked recently installed

The bedroom was in a good location and was clean, but the decor was quite tired and could benefit from a refurb.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed cocktails in the lounge bar, which is attractively decorated. The breakfast had a good choice, and we liked the full English, which arrived quickly and was served nice and hot. We looked for free on-street parking, but there isn’t much near the hotel and we never saw a space - so we paid the £12 fee to park in the small car park conveniently located behind the hotel.

Decor upstairs a little tired. Corridor lighting didn't work so a little difficult to find room but once we got in was all OK.

Excellent position close to the sea and the town. Nice welcome and check in very straightforward. Large room with sea view. Very clean. We didn't use the restaurant or bar but looked nice. They do a cocktail happy hour. We wanted a last minute night away by the sea and this hotel was very reasonably priced. We were lucky to secure unrestricted on-street parking a short distance away.
