Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe had previously stayed here as an extended family in what was a family-friendly dog-friendly hotel able to accommodate relatives and others attending my father's Wake in 2017 (Indeed, my brother and I had virtually lived there with his dog when our father was ill for several months for long periods)..... this is no longer the case after our mother died in 2024 due to a change in ownership and a general change in customer attitude and provision. This caused some heartbreak to two relatives unable to mourn with us and having to sit in the car park of the hotel (though unable to park their car) having traveled long distances with small, well-behaved, trained dogs. The hotel needs to warn those following previous experiences of a dog-friendly hotel that this is no longer the case and that the hotel is completely different from what it was. The hotel must warn families that mourners cannot park nearby for more than an hour, so realistically, no more than 5 attendees can attend a wake unless it is over within 60 minutes and they walk there from the crematorium or arrive by taxi. I should have checked Trip Advisor before booking; I cannot blame anyone else for assuming it was still the place it was.
The staff were generally polite, efficient, not outright unfriendly, but clearly too busy to smile much. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The grounds were pretty, well-maintained, and pleasant to sit in, whatever the weather, which was conducive to catching up with my family. The food was excellent when catering for my mother's wake, especially when accommodating my vegan daughter with some excellent cake. Just a pity many could not stay long enough to eat it all. Onsite parking is available but limited and not really enough even if only half of the rooms (5/10) were full, never mind if visitors to the venue arrive on top, as is needed if holding a Wake or any function? There is on-street parking nearby for mourners potentially.... (but the stay is limited to one hour) This venue is advertised to cater for a wake of 70 mourners. This could work, provided all mourners arrive by public transport. We had fewer than 20 people, and most could not park. (Most were not local enough to arrive by train/bus, but the local population could do this easily) There are excellent cafes within a 15-minute walking distance of this hotel, which are very pleasantly situated in the lovely Bournville Green area, where coffee/tea/Brunch can be obtained as breakfast and access to hot drinks from the kitchen/bar closes at 10 am at the hotel. (as you would expect from a bed and breakfast facility) Bournville does not have pubs, etc., as expected in an area created by the Quaker Cadbury Family, and IMO this has maintained the areas beauty. You may need to travel for evening meals and takeaways if that is what you want. I would happily recommend The Old Farm if you need Bed and Breakfast accommodation based in this part of Birmingham if attending for business or pleasure with one vehicle and no pets.

United KingdomUnfortunately, some of the milk 'cartons' were out of date (looked after a cuppa tasted odd). This is likely to have been an oversight, as the expiry dates on these things can be hard to identify.
Friendly, 'family' feel. Very welcoming. Clean rooms, with everything you need for a couple of nights' stay! Great breakfast. Nice little bar for evening wind-down.

United StatesReally busy intersection, but once we figure it out we were good to go. It is a bit farther out from what we we're there for, but we wouldn't trade it as it was really a lovely place to be.
The breakfast was delicious, the back garden was beautiful and a welcome place to be after a long day.

United KingdomThere was limited parking, luckily we were able to walk where we wanted to go during our stay, and were not inconvenienced by this. The bed was a standard double, as a taller person my feet were off the end when stretched out, but in fairness the was not enough space to accommodate and larger bed
Good breakfast and very pleasant staff. A lovely quiet location with interesting places close by.

United KingdomHeating was an issue. I checked in at 8pm. The room was very cold and heating wasn’t turned on at all. Not sure for how long the room has been vacant. It took at least 2 hours for the room to be a bit warm. Then during midnight the heating went off again and can’t be turned on at all. If the host knows the room is expecting a guest during winter and the heating should be turned on before guest arrives. The room has been mostly cold during my stay. Breakfast time was 8-9am. Really a short time gap for a hotel.
Fairly cosy and clean. Located at a nice road. The property was good.

United KingdomMy single room was small but comfortable, with all that you needed for a short stay. The room had a nice ensuite shower, washbasin, tea/coffee making kit and a coat rack. The breakfast was great, with a choice of cereals and a cooked breakfast if you wanted. The B&B is about 10mins walk from Bournville station, which is convenient if you are travelling without a car.

United KingdomThe bathroom of room 6 could probably do with a little shower re-fit as silicone etc looking a bit tired etc.
The hosts Patsy and Dave were very nice. The rooms were clean and beds comfortable. The breakfast was yummy, nice and hot and made to order. The little bar area is nice to enjoy a drink and the gardens would be lovely to sit in during the summer.

United KingdomBreakfast is only served from 8-9am (even on Sunday), and check-out is at 10am. The heating only comes on around 7.45am, and as it was 2C outside, the room was very cold overnight, making it difficult to sleep. There was also no heating in the shower room.
The Old Farm is in an excellent location just opposite Cadbury World in the pretty village of Bournville. There was free parking onsite and the breakfast was a nice full English. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, and there was a tv and tea/coffee/biscuits.
