Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomDidn't like that had pay £7 for WiFi thought that should've been included in the price of the room . I've never been to a hotel where had to pay separate for WiFi & should at least be a charge per room not per phone :/ Also the windows let the cold in on a very windy southport night so was freezing throughout the night. But other then those 2 things I had a great stay :)
Comfy beds, friendly staff

United KingdomThere wasn't anything I did not particularly like about my stay, I was just a little disappointed that the bar they had open with a singer on last time I stayed was not open, but I found other entertainment and took myself to the cinema instead (which is only 10mins walk away) from this hotel. I found the bed a little hard for me but I suffer with a bad back, Pillows were comfy.
I like the fact the hotel is in a prime position for town and all amenities, this hotel allows pets also which is great as I was able to take my elderly cat, who frets when is left alone, the hotel was very clean and I was extremely pleased with my room, It was extremely clean and spacious I didn't have a very nice view from my window, but that wasn't important to me as I wasn't planning on being in the room much in the daytime. The bathroom had everything you needed, including a lovely sized bath to which I took the opportunity to use, it was nice and deep and spacious and I didn't want to get out. My cat settled in and made herself comfortable extremely quickly which was nice to see. The staff I spoke to were very pleasant and helpful. Will definitely go back.

United KingdomI think one of the people in the next room was smoking and blowing it up into the toilet air vent, which meant it came to our bathroom.
I liked the fact that this hotel has the exact you get what you pay for, and I mean that in a good way, I didn't feel like I was over charged or we were undervalued.

United KingdomYou need to make it clear stating in the thing of you don't get room service at all and you prices for your internet is ridiculous but you need a way of knowing where your bedrooms are because if I didn't know where my bedroom if I knew where my bedroom was I want a book that room because definitely I could not have got my pram up and down them stairs where it was and the far from it is is ridiculous so it was hard work for me now I am actually not well since I've got back you just need to make improve things like because I thought my bedroom was at the front with your pictures it looks like you're the front of the hotel when we went to check my room out I'm right at the bloody back when no way I could have got my pram that way
The hotel was nice but there was things what I didn't think was very good for people who have prams and they put in a very far right in the back where if me and my sister swapped dreams I would have struggled really badly the mattress good to sleep on we thought we would get fresh towels the next morning but we didn't we didn't know we'll get in no daily you know of the room didn't know that so we didn't have a lot of tea coffee because they weren't putting it in the rooms today after when we read the list after you only think issue I do have is where they put me on my son was very far from my sister where she is like my support I I have PTSD so she is my support when I'm away and I have severe anxiety so I weigh back in the back miles away from her my room was , sorry, it was made very difficult getting the pram from room to room and the lady Soul me with a pram when I was trying to get the lift so she didn't even but we managed we'd sorted it but when we did tell them at the desk they said why didn't equal mentals we didn't want to make things awkward because they were already having someone kicking off as a desk when we booked in

United KingdomNot many staff (maybe because of small number of guests that day) They checked in on bar and restaurant from time to time during opening hours, not there all the time if not actively engaged with guests.
Big room, comfy bed. Tea/coffee facilities in room. Extras available at reception. Helpful staff when available. Discounted 24hour parking for residents if you Register car when you book in, instead of using ticket machine outside. Evening meal very good value, especially on a miserable wet night outside. Help yourself buffet style. Soup/salad bar/hot starters. 3main courses, cakes, coffee. Same buffet setup for breakfast. Pay at hotel reception if not included in booking. Other guests in dining room friendly and advised each other if they arrived while staff not present.
