How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Basic for the price. Having spent over £200 for one night it was outrageous to have to also pay (albeit only £1) for baggage storage.
Excellent service from the staff including allowing me to check in early. Rooms are fine if basic for the price. The location is excellent for the West End

Size of the shower can be tough if you have a bigger build. Bed and pillows were uncomfortable which sometimes made it hard to get a full nights rest.
Very Helpful staff, nice location with a restaurant and bar on site. Close to many amenities and public transportation. Air conditioning was very nice.

No comments here since everything was good, Staff really nice.
It would have been nice if continental Breakfast was included and charging service for North American customers. Otherwise all is well. If I visit again I will stay there for sure.

When we went to the 1st room it was a huge disappointment and unacceptable! It was a TINY room, no air condition, no fan and the window only opened up about 4-5 inches which was not going to allow air in the room. I went back downstairs I was helped by NIkki! He sent us to another room that had an air condition, but the room seemed very dirty and again unacceptable. At that point I learned the first two rooms were old and not remodeled. However..... Nikki placed us in another room that was beyond my expectations! A higher floor, air condition, a remodeled room and CLEAN!!!! It was PERFECT and what I had expected originally based on the pictures (since the website doesn't show the rooms that are not remodeled). I can't thank Nikki enough for helping move us into a room that was acceptable for this very stress time of moving. Can't thank you enough Nikki!
When I booked this hotel it was strictly for location near where my daughter was going to be studying. The photos on the website looked good so I didn't question my booking. When we got there the lady checking us in was very nice and said "you look tired, let me get you your room early", which I appreciated. Until we went to the room.....

Hotel under refurbishment as it is a bit tired. One concern was the gap all around the room door to the corridor which I hope will be rectified when refurb is complete.
Great location, rooms small but comfortable. Great music and artworks in the bar. Helpful staff.

It is being refurbished currently and it was clear to see why that was needed. Also, whilst some of the staff were beyond helpful, others were a little standoffish at times. There was also the issue of being checked into a room that someone was already staying in.
The property is in a great and convenient location, and easy walk to Covent Garden, Leicester Square and theatres. Check in staff very quickly resolved the error of being checked into an already in use room and provided an upgrade, so in terms of helpfulness and quickness they were brilliant.

The single room was tiny. Not even a full size door so difficult to get in with luggage. Huge shelf unit dwarfed the room. TV not watchable from the bed as it was on a wall to the side & too far towards the head of the bed. 2 coathangers, no drawers. Sockets high up & hard to reach.
