Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe kitchen area could benefit from a small hob and oven (& saucepans/trays). The TV was difficult to operate so we only managed to get Netflix working after quite a bit of faffing around. A DVD player would be a good addition to add to the books and games provided for entertainment.
It was clean, light, airy, and in a great location for a short walk into town. The parking space was a big plus, and the key safe entry system worked well.

United KingdomThere are only two things which I would point out here. Neither are reasons not to stay at the property but are things to be aware of. The first is that due to fire regulations there is not a hob in the property. Instead there is a tabletop free standing cooker and a microwave. These are perfectly usable and we managed to cook breakfast and dinner on them for the duration of our stay but it is something to be aware of and prepare for if planning to eat in. The other is that being a garage conversion and close to a main road there were a couple of times when we could hear traffic going by, however, this was rare and just something to be aware of.
The place was delightful and really comfortable for a couple of nights away from home. Check in was easy and upon arrival there was tea, coffee, milk and shampoo to help you relax when you get there. Parking was available outside for one car which made it easy to unpack and repack. One thing I particularly liked is that as well as having a lounge and dining space, there was also a study nook with an ethernet connection if needed for a laptop. Everything was accounted for and ready to go. Great experience. The location was also extremely close to the city centre making it ideal for leisure or business trips.

United KingdomThe only thing missing in the kitchen is an oven, but there is a small electric fryer-type device that did all we needed, so not really a problem. The parking space is on the pavement but it's a narrow road and several neighbours also parked on the pavement; custom and practice, I guess and, again, not really a problem.
It's a garage from the outside, but go in, and it's a magical retreat. The garage has been extended and very thoughtfully converted into a one-bedroom apartment. It even has a small patio. Tea, coffee, milk and sugar are supplied, and there is a plentiful supply of cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. The washing machine is a tumble dryer too. It's also a great location, just a short walk into the centre of Bath.

United KingdomThere is not anything in my honest opinion to dislike.
The location is a short walk to the City centre. The walk itself is a pleasant journey. The parking space is a bonus, although you do not need a car to venture around the City centre. The apartment is surprisingly spacious & very clean & well presented. The amenities provided are of a high standard. All in all I highly recommend this apartment.

United KingdomEverything was great, we loved it all!
The Blue Door is in a lovely quiet street, only a few minutes walk from The centre of Bath. So location is ideal. There is no need for driving and the car parking space right outside the Blue Door is fantastic and there was no need to move the car. There are some lovely cafes and restaurants just a short walk away. Blue Door interior is beautiful and spotlessly clean, it was a really lovely place to stay.

United KingdomThe interior is on 3 levels: as a mature couple we found the staircase up to the bedroom a minor challenge - the lounge and bathroom are on the ground floor and there are also a few steps down to the kitchen so it might not suit a person with mobility issues. No hob or oven, which we knew about, but there is a microwave and washing machine.
Not attractive from the outside but amazingly good inside. Beautifully converted, clean and light with an airy, modern feel. Lovely big bed. Smart Tv. Great little kitchen with everything we needed - even coffee pods. The location suited us well - less than a 15 minute walk to the Abbey but peaceful. The hop-on hop-off bus stops quite nearby, at the sports centre.

United KingdomI would only suggest that the instructions for the key safe include a watch out not to select the little tab on the back that resets the code. It took me a while to work out what I had done wrong.
Very homely, well appointed, very well placed for a trip to Bath, just what we needed and so much more.
