How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Nothing really except couldn't work out how to turn the heated towel rail on but very minor.
Quite the nicest UK hotel we have stayed in for ages. All the staff were absolutely charming, friendly and helpful. The room was brilliant and so lovely to have such space with a proper seating area with a sofa. The bathroom was brilliant with the best lighting ever and the towels big and fluffy. The staff seemed to be like part of a family rather than just employees. Will go out of our way to return there.

Very large spacious room with king size bed and seating area. Excellent wifi. Large bathroom. Free parking on site. Hot breakfast was cooked to order. Great location for exploring Sherborne and Sherborn Castle and Gardens.

Our soap didn't get replenished after housekeeping tidied up the room. So had to ration our supplies over three days.
Lovely decor, immaculate and really friendly staff who made us and our dog feel very welcomed

Perfectly located for a family visit. Staff exceeded expectations - special mention for reception! Room large and comfortable. Smeg fridge and real milk. Lovely large shower with Elemis products and extra large fluffy towels. Breakfast was cooked to order and very enjoyable.

Maybe me just trying to look for a pick up point here. But the lunch and dinner menus are the same. But food was good so it's a hard one to pick up
The staff were great, food was lovely, the spa was great and the room was brilliant.

A new hotel recently opened. Rooms very spacious. Bed very comfortable. Shower good. Parking just outside and free for residents. Excellent breakfast. Staff all local and very pleasant.

Hotel is new and everything looked and felt new. Beds were comfortable and the apartment was very clean and practical for a family of four. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Location was great, less than 10 minutes drive to the centre of Sherborne. Full English breakfast was good and well presented.

only one small thing - butter on the sourdough and breakfast and some lemon and black pepper for the smoked salmon!
Brand new hotel so the facilities were excellent - very clean, stylish and comfortable. great bed! The staff were all excellent too - we arrived very early and they kindly accommodated an early check in. A great hotel to use as a stop en route to Cornwall from London - easy parking. breakfast was also great.

Sadly the kitchen let the place down - breakfast was a schmozzle with some of the options unavailable, long wait times and cold when it came. Dogs in the dining room was unexpected and not pleasant. The bar is not well stocked, offers no tap beer, no alcohol free options except limited soft drinks, no bar snacks and would benefit from having comfy chairs, in an area separate to the restaurant Stay was pricey, overall a nice hotel in a stunning town

The bar area is part of the dining room and there are no sofas or comfortable chairs.
It’s new and the rooms are large. We stayed twice in two different rooms and despite the proximity to the A30, the soundproofing is effective. The staff are particularly friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were very good. The location is no more than 15 minutes walk from the town centre and close to the schools.

The whole stay was very good indeed. The staff were really helpful and friendly. I would recommend the hotel to anyone. Bit of a walk into town though about 20 mins but you cant have everything.

The experience was seamlessly enjoyable from the start- the hotel is easy to find, the car parking accessible, the reception staff unhesitatingly helpful and the room spacious with a sitting area and luxurious shower.

Could of done with instant coffee sachets to use in addition to, having to use the cafetiere.
