Perhaps only that the beach across the road is a bit less protected by wind and waves that the other beach near the Castle (anyway within walking distance)

Excellent apartment, garden and in perfect condition. The owners are extremely friendly and helpful, they made us feel like at home. We will come back!

We stayed in a traditional Cretan-style apartment with two bedrooms. The whole complex is placed in a luscious garden with hammocks that made our stay dreamy. The hosts were amiable and suggested restaurants and places we enjoyed.

Couldnt be placed better - great places to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner few minutes walk away and amazing beach just across the small street - with few other people, but with a great Beach bar. Owners seem to take great pride in keeping the place and doing what they can for customers. Garden also beautiful and inviting- the hammocks in the shade perfect for siestas.

Everything was perfect.

The garden of the dolphin apartments is a dream. We spent a wonderful week at dolphin apartments and it was quite, relaxing and peaceful. I recommend this place for family with kids. The staff is amazing, caring and ready to help in any possible way. The position is perfect, also without car: a beautiful beach is reachable just crossing the road. Restaurants and markets are nearby.

We've come around a lot everywhere in the world and also have stayed in enough different locations in Frangokastello, Crete to give Dolphin Apartments a reasonable 5-star review I guess. The apartments are spacious and nice, well equipped with the essential. Maybe some spices and dish washing liquid would be nice but this doesn't matter much as fair priced mini markets are very close by. The only real improvement we would vote for are the beds we unluckily couldn't enjoy at all. Then again other guests weren't bothered at all so this also might be fully on us. Bad luck. The complex around the apartments is definitely the highlight. Vast areas of fresh green grass in the middle of August, different shady trees, figs and citrus trees offer something to discover for young and old. This definitely costs a lot of time, energy, water and money, but also makes it a special place in Frangokastello. Last but not least, the warm and attentive hosts are definitely worth the overnight price, which is perhaps a bit higher compared to other accommodations in the village, we think! So our opinion, even without children (for whom the facility is a dream!): 100% recommendation.

Hristos could act a little more human :), understand the small problems of his guests and be a little more pro-active, not waiting for his guests to sound the alarm about an obvious problem. But the place is great, Hristos is correct, the appartment was clean and there was enough space.

There was a misunderstanding with Booking.com about our booking. We booked a self contained "1 bedroom apartment 645 sq.ft " which apparently meant that we were not allowed to put our luggage in the other room in the apartment, as that would be a booking for a self contained " 2 bedroom apartment 645 sq.ft" We haven't ever come across this before, but when informed about it, were prepared to concede a misunderstanding, and move our luggage to elsewhere in the apartment. The owners remained implacable and repeatedly insisted on an additional 15 Euros a night for luggage storage. Fortuanately Booking.com Customer Service were able to quickly resolve the misunderstanding, but overall it was a highly unpleasant incident that we have never experienced with Cretan hosts before. So be aware when booking a self contained apartment, to check what is included, so you aren't unpredictably faced with demands for exorbitant additional costs , and with unhappy inhospitable hosts during your stay. Another curious issue to be aware of, is that bedlinen is inspected for signs of staining with sunlotions etc, for which guests are charged. This wasn't an issue for us - thankfully - and it may be a local Frangokastello custom perhaps, but important to know in advance.

Perfect location for the beach and local tavernas. Lovely setting for the apartment with manicured grounds and orchards. Very clean and well equipped. Lovely terrace to have morning coffee. Peaceful and quiet. Frangokastello is a magical place.
