Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndonesiaDawok and is team were amazing ! Whatever we needed or wanted we just asked for and they organised it for us or told us where to go. It is perfectly positioned, just walk out the back gate and jump straight into the line up . Everything within easy walking distance. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to explore the west coast. Breakfast was simple but perfect after a morning surf and even the teenagers enjoyed their stay !

AustraliaJust a small thing, but the stairs up to the villa were a little sketchy in that when wet they were quite slippery.
Great value for money right on the beach. Our kids took the family room and we took a double room. We were all very happy. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Organised a driver for us to get to our next destination and also a surf instructor when needed. Pool was very nice and clean as were the rooms. They are basic, but more than adequate and you don't spend too much time in them anyway when you can sit outside on the balconies. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely stay again if we return to Medewi.

New ZealandWe were not there for the surf so limited beach access was a problem. Balian Beach is a better option for those seeking beach access
This a comfortable and clean resort set in lush gardens with beachfront access. The rooms are clean and comfortable and breakfast is served each morning on the terrace in front of your room. It has a nice pool with a relaxing surrounding area. I would opt for garden bungalows some of which are poolside if I was returning. Medewi is of course primarily a surf location with one of Balis best point breaks. For this the location is perfect. Should you be there for other reasons the beach access is limited to low tide as you have two quite large rivers on each side of the resort. Restaurants are located a five minute walk down the beach and provide better than average Balinese meals

AustraliaI loved the stone base in the shower but my husband wasn't a fan.
Great staff led by Dawok. Great breakfast, best omelette ever and fantastic location with plenty of food and drink places nearby. Pool was great along with the lounges. Photos do not do AgaLiving justice as it's much nicer in person. Loved our little hut.

New ZealandWe enjoyed the call to prayer from the mosque nearby but it might not be for everyone. The beach out front is also for fishing and not for frolicking, but we didn't need that ourselves and spent time at the pool or went surfing. The stairs to the top rooms where we stayed seemed a bit rickety, but all in all we had an absolutely wonderful time!
The team at AgaLiving were the highlight, everyone was so welcoming and friendly, we felt like a part of the family after only 6 days. The view was also breathtaking. Lovely breakfast, simple but super tasty. Would absolutely stay again. The pool was great, nice common area. Good location, within a quick walk to the surf.

GermanyIt's close to the mosque , so you hear the prayer at 4.30 . Luckily we rise early anyway.
I really enjoyed my stay at agaliving. The atmosphere is really relaxed and the staff around is super helpful and welcoming. I enjoyed having a laugh with Dawok. Him and Elvis are so kind and are willing to go the extra mile for their guests. The location is super close to the point and also close to the shops up the road. I'd come and stay there again!

AustraliaWe loved our room in Medewi, there was an ocean view and a lovely garden in front of it. We enjoyed the swimming pool and how near the hotel is to Medewi point by foot. The best thing of Aga living is how friendly and welcoming the staff are there, they really know how to take care of the guests. Breakfast was always tasty and served to the room fast.

New ZealandIt's a bit of a hike to get the amazing view, but nothing the property could do about that. Other than maybe updating the stairs a bit because they seemed slightly dangerous.
The staff were very friendly and welcoming which was definitely the highlight. The pool was a lot of fun too. Location was right near the surf beach, a few minutes walk. We enjoyed the call to prayer from the mosque that is just up the road, but it might not be for all. The view from the king room balcony suites is breathtaking. Breakfast was tasty.

AustraliaTake earplugs as the nearby temples start blasting on speakers at 4:40am. Didn't bother me, but I assume it could annoy the unaware person that has a light sleep.
Impeccable experience. A last minute booking and such a pleasant surprise. The room is gorgeous, bed is firm, has a fridge and a kettle. Bathroom was pristine with the shower is a delight. Staff are 10/10 and breakfast is delicious. I was supposed to stay one night, stayed 3 and would've stayed a month if I could.
