Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsRooms are bit dark. We needed an upgrade to get to a better room. Breakfast is a bit basic.
Nice hotel centrally located in Prawirotaman area. Hotel uses staff from the neighborhood. They do there best to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Rooms are nice and clean.

AustraliaSounds from the Mosques. But I guess that should be impacting all the properties in that area so not a drawback for just this property.
Its a beautiful property in the middle of the City. The swimming pool was Serene. Rooms are spacious and so are the Bathrooms. Staffs were helpful too. Its close to the main street but still tucked away. The whole design and landscaping of this property is inspiring.

United KingdomThe bathroom facilities are a bit tired but that was no problem for us.
It was a beautiful oasis . The pools were lovely it was very peaceful. The calls to prayer every evening are reminder of where you are and that’s good. The Indonesian staff are helpful and pleasant.

AustraliaThe noise from the nearby mosque was quite prominent and woke us up early occasionally - but it was nice to be in an otherwise quiet and peaceful spot.
The location was perfect and allowed us to walk to the lovely streets and sample amazing gelato and buy beautiful batik. The hotel itself was like an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the busier areas and the room was very generous and beautifully cleaned every day.

NetherlandsThe bathroom is outdated, but they are working on refurbished bathrooms in other rooms now.
Super beautiful garden with waterfalls, ponds with fish and 2 pools! The room is very comfortable with a nice terrace and the breakfast is great. Around the corner from two lively streets though set in a very quiet backstreet. Very much recommended!

NetherlandsWe very much enjoyed our stay at Duta Garden. The staff is very friendly and very helpful. Also they are extremely nice to children. They clean the rooms and the premises daily. Our room was fine. The shower is a bit outdated. The bed slept nice. AC worked proper. They also have a great pool! Very nice to cool off after a hot day through the city. Would definitely recommend.

MalaysiaThe hotel needs refurbishment especially the shower room and the pool need daily cleaning, but it still acceptable considering the price we had.
The hotel is beautiful, location is great, within local housing area & peaceful. Hotel is next block to the Prawirotaman St. where cafe/pub/live band performed on weekend. We enjoy our coffee and 'terang bulan' at local cafe next to the mainstreet.

United KingdomThe rooms are a bit dated and they need a revamp, especially the bathroom. I always like the idea of an open bathroom as long as there are nets on the windows. Otherwise you are at the mercy of the mosquitos! A mini fridge would be a nice addition to the rooms.
The hotel is located in a strategic position with a lot of cafes, bars and restaurants within walking distance. I loved the pool and the waterfall was beautiful to look at and relaxing to listen to. The ladies at the front desk are helpful and the rooms are clean.

United StatesThe only issue is that the hotel doesn't seem well set up to deal with tourist queries - in terms of responding on tours to the temples or public travel. So you need to do your own research. But it's a beautiful place and I was very happy overall.
The room was great, comfortable, with a balcony overlooking the lovely garden and pool. It's a beautiful and peaceful hotel. The location is also nice - next to some great bars and restaurants -- although fairly far from Malioboro street. But it's easy to get taxis or becak so this isn't an issue if you don't want to walk.

SpainNothing, I enjoyed everything.
The property was very well maintained and looked like the photos in the booking. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Having two swimming pools was a bonus and the breakfast was delightful. The rooms were large and a balcony or outside space was appreciated. I would highly recommend this hotel. It was also good value for money in comparison to other hotels of a similar price.

RussiaThe water in the shower was a little bit less hot than I prefer, so taking a shower for me was not easy. Also only one bad has a charging point, the second socket is under the TV.
The best hotel area I have ever seen. Waterfalls, fish, so cozy and nice. Good looking rooms, not new but still nice to stay in. Good breakfast meals starting at 6:30, you can have a breakfast and go to see the Temples with no delays.

CanadaBe sure that your AC works. Had to move rooms twice to get one where AC actually worked other then just the fan blowing out air. AC is quite important with the heat of the city. There are no mini fridges in the rooms. Would be nice to have for access to cold beverages.
Lovely well maintained grounds. Great staff.

SingaporeIf you are looking for 5-star hotel kind of furnishing, this hotel is not for you. While generally clean, the fixtures (especially bathroom fixtures) are quite run down. It is OK for me, but not for everyone. You also get occasional insects entering the room. The other thing I did not enjoy was the loud wake-up call for morning prayers starting from 4:45 am (from different mosques). However, having been to many parts of Indonesia, it is something you cannot escape from.
The location is great. It is where tourists can find good local and foreign food, all within walking distance. The location is generally tranquil except at certain times of the day. There is a nearby laundry service that provides a value-for-money service. If you do not like the hotel's shampoo, you can buy it from the small shop nearby for around 10 cents per sachet. And the place is so safe and clean. I especially like the Asian selection for the breakfast. Every morning they have hot noodles, rice, 1 meat and 1 vegetable. They provide at least 2 kinds of fruits and eggs are cooked on the spot to your preference. Can't ask for more. The beds are sufficiently hard and comfortable.
