Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThe Aroma Villa just has the best view, the nicest owner and really good food. We were here for only one night, we strongly recommend more. The fruits you are served when you arrived and at breakfast are fresh from the garden and incredibly tasty. The room is big, very clean and tidy. The owner is really helpful and will make everything for you to have the best stay! His brother in law became our guide to the waterfalls and our driver for our next two long drive in Ubud/Bali. He was so sweet and very helpful with us, talking about traditions, religions and culture. We also deeply recommend him if you need a drive from/to Ubud to reach Aroma Villa.

AustriaAgree with all the other excellent reviews. This is a special place that has been thoughtfully and thoroughly 'built' to the needs of guests. Breakfast and dinner were fantastic. Garden and surroundings beautiful. Swimming pool is a good size. Nothing was too much and all of our needs were met with a smile. We were picked up from our hotel in Kuta and dropped back off to our hotel in Sanur. We stayed 3 days and enjoyed every minute.

Great place to discover another part of Bali. Munduk still feels undiscovered. Like The Aroma villa. A fantastic host who really understands what hospitality means. Many thanks pak Wayan. Villa in the middle of rice fields with impressive views on the mountains. Airco, bed, shower all great. No mosquitoes at all. We definitely come back

AustraliaWe closed our eyes and picked a spot on the map, and found a hidden gold mine! On arrival at Aroma Villa we were made to feel extremely welcome with fresh fruit and a freshly picked coconut to drink from. Wayan has created a wonderful and peaceful spot nestled in the middle of rice paddies with an incredible view to the mountains. Having selected a breakfast & dinner inclusion, we have tried local dishes that added to our experience with food from his garden and family farms. While the local chickens add to the ambiance, they don't ruin the tranquility. While this is a typical Aussie reference, do yourself a favour and book a stay here. You won't regret it as you will experience real Bali in comfort!

Czech RepublicThere was no comfortable seating on the terrace of the room, but this is only a minor blemish on an otherwise impeccable stay.
The owner is a great person, very helpful. The apartment is located next to a rice field, the wider area is good for walking. There are pretty waterfalls, street markets and natural life in general within easy reach on a scooter.

AustraliaEverything was amazing.
Everyone speaks about Wayan and what a beautiful host he is, but you have to experience it to actually understand how amazing and kind he is. This is not just staying at a beautiful villa, it’s an entire experience. Also if you’re wondering if you should stay in Munduk, this villa is so damn close (waterfalls are an easy 15 min scooter too), so look no further and stay here. So glad we did.

United StatesAmerican citizen here who can enthusiastically endorse this not just as a great place to stay, but one of the most unique experiences to be had in Bali. The two things that most stand out are the incredible kindness/giving nature of the owner, as well as the location near Munduk. I also felt like I got a more deep cultural immersion into Balinese way of life by staying here. Wayan really goes out of his way for villa guests. As there are only two rooms, he essentially gives you undivided attention during your stay. As others mention, usually he will offer you transportation around town in his van since it is a bit more rural. He wanted to take us to a few waterfalls, but when we told him we also wanted to see Ulu Danu Beratan temple, he was extremely kind to drive us there and wait for us in the parking lot while we saw the temple before taking us to the waterfalls for a great hike (the waterfalls he took us to are undoubtely some of the best in Bali, as they still have decent enough infrastructure without being as crowded as some of the other waterfalls). He took us to a hot springs after the waterfall. This was a 6-7 hour day almost, and he doesn't ask for any sort of payment for this; we still tipped him a monetary amount that a full-day driver would usually charge. I can't officially promise on his behalf what he will offer, but based on other guests' reviews and my experience, it seems he would offer you help with transportation, whether for a short part of the day or even the full day! I genuinely think the location on the villa is one of its highlights. If you want to go to partying in clubs/bars, you can still do so, it's just a 20-25 in drive to Munduk city. If you don't care about being in the heart of a city, it is so refreshing being in this villa b/c it is perched next to a rice terrace, and from the comfort of the swimming pool, you can enjoy the incredible beauty of the Munduk countryside with rice terraces.

AustraliaThere is nothing negative to report.
We are a couple and stayed for two nights. An absolutely great experience with the nicest host you can imagine. We got served a variety of exotic fruit from his own garden to eat. View over the sparkling pool into saturated green ricefields right next to the place and great view into the mountains. The place is also very well suited for a family. If required, the host will guide yoe to different sights. We higly recommend this place for a well rounded experience.

My wife and i stayed in the upstairs room. The room was very nice and clean, and the views were amazing! The best thing about our stay was the owner, Mr Wyan, who was the nicest, most welcoming person we've ever met! He welcomed us with a cold, fresh coconut and passion fruit from his garden, which were delicious. He would go out of his way to make sure our stay was comfortable and serve us breakfast on the balcony each morning. He showed us around his beautiful garden, rented us a lovely new scooter, helped us plan our day trips and also cooked us the best mi goreng we've ever had. We highly recommend staying at the Aroma Villa Munduk!

SingaporeThe accessibility to restaurants is limited. We walked so that limited us. Others used motorbikes so no issue.
Wayan the Owner is caring, genuine and made us feel cared n looked after. He goes out of his way to help. The walk down the valley is pleasant, among trees, we went in search of maya restaurant but couldn’t find it. They do deliveries which Wayan will help you with so that was cool. Best beds, great view. Only two rooms so it’s exclusive. The pool was grrrreat! We loved it to bits n will be back.

United StatesAroma Villas Munduk review: Found this hidden gem on our third trip to Bali. Nestled in the remote highlands, our humble host Wayan was very responsive pre-arrival on WhatsApp and arranged inexpensive transport from Denpasar. Nicely appointed and new construction both upstairs and downstairs-villas include lots of attention to detail. Soundproof, cold A/C, lovely hot shower, large tub and small fridge in each place. You can’t go wrong, the downstairs has a great view of on-site garden and koi pond, AND sunrise over the distant volcanic peaks. Upstairs has all that – plus the neighboring rice paddies. Their future plans include an on-premises restaurant and cooking classes. Currently, our breakfast and dinners were served automatically, fresh yet simple Balinese fare from their commercial kitchen. A nice touch to have water to fill our flasks from his machine. Spent a full day with our friendly host Wayan, who drove and hiked with us to 4 picturesque waterfalls. We had Labuhan Kebo to ourselves for swimming and selfies. Next day we hired him to drive us to Ubud, stopping for a visit at floating temple in the lake, and rented some scooters to tour the botanical gardens, temples, and statues. We arrived as guests, but left as friends. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

NetherlandsWe absolutely recommend staying at Villa Aroma in Munduk! The moment we arrived the host is one of the nicest person I’ve ever met! As soon as we arrived he brought us a young coconut from his garden to welcome us. Asked us if we wanted to have dinner and at what time and prepared a lovely local dinner for us - it was delicious! Definitely a must try 😋 Then he made sure we had everything we need and explained us why the fruit tastes soooo good here! He gave us some tips on things to do while we are in Munduk and volunteered to take us to the waterfalls, the buddhist temple and the hot springs waters close to the villa. He spent the whole day with us from 10am til 5pm he took us to all 4 waterfalls and waited for us to enjoy our time there. Then he took us to the Buddhist temple and the hot spring waters and asked us to please not rush it and enjoy our time there while he watched out for our stuff. When we went back to the villa he prepared an amazing local dinner for us. In our last day he also brought us a new balinese breakfast to try besides the usual breakfast and explained us which fruits he grows in his garden. Wayan is such a genuine person with an amazing energy. If you are thinking about staying in Munduk for a few days to discover a less touristy and more raw part of Bali - you should stay at Villa Aroma 10000%!

SloveniaThis is probably the best stay I have had, not only in Bali but ever. The property is amazing. The room is very clean and nicely furnished. But the most amazing part is the view. I will miss so much waking up to the sunrise with the view to the rice fileds. Amd the brekfast is served on the terrace so you can ejoy the view while eating it. The brekfast is also very good. Every day we good different fresh juice made from the fruits that grow in the garden. The owner also prepares a small plate of traditional balinese breakfast, so you can try what the locals eat. Upon arrival we also got fresh coconuts that grow on the garden. Amazing! At the property you can also rent scooters and wash your clothes. Even is you dont get half board, the owner can cook you something delicious, for local price. But the best thing about this property is defintley the owner. He is the nicest and the sweetest person I have ever met. The last day we had problems with our transfer and he helped us to arrange another transfer at 5am. Not to mention that he got up so eraly to prepare us brekfast. He also taught us a lot about balinese culture. As he said: we arrived as guests and left as friends❤️
