Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FinlandIt was a self-service hotel which did have luggage storage, but as there was none there we didn't want to leave the luggage there. Could be great to have some lockers for luggage.
The room was suitable for three people with proper beds. A bit far away from the city centre so the location depends on your preferences. Decent breakfast.

United StatesThe room was a little small and had no desk or chair. The location was a little further from downtown than we would have liked.
Breakfast was excellent and staff were very helpful and friendly. We appreciated the room being serviced every second day in deference to the environment. We also liked that it was not full of tourists.

United KingdomHad to chase the codes for access as they didn't appear when I expected them to. They were there but just not easily spot able. The parking layout could of been better with more parking places marked rather than just park anywhere. My opinion may of been a different result if it was full.
Everything (codes) worked fine on accessing them. Parking was fine for me as I got places on the days I stayed. Missing a kettle and emailed the company. Was resolved within minutes so communication was excellent. Breakfast/Restaurant/bar was manned until 10 and I wasn't expecting that.

United KingdomI had a main meal and didn't really enjoy it (pulled pork burger) felt it was a bit minimal for the price but I was hungry as I'd just arrived so ate it. The bed was comfy however I had a double bed but with 2 single duvets? I did ask about getting them changed to a double but they only provide single duvets.
Continental breakfast was good with a lot of choices. Really set you up for the day. The hotel is on the outskirts of the city and at first I was a bit annoyed with myself for not being in the city centre, however by the end of my stay it wasn't a problem at all. It's an hour walk into the city and I veered off down by the sea, it was a lovely day so enjoyed the walk and fresh air. There's taxis right outside the hotel and also busses come often. I did a couple bus tours and they can come pick you up from the hotel (some charge a bit more) which is also super handy.

United KingdomThe room, although very clean, was a little on the small size. No tea/coffee in the room.
Hotel was very clean and looked new. Breakfast was very good and plenty of choice. Restaurant food was also very good and good value. Everything was expensive in Iceland but the hotel food prices were not expensive compared to other restaurants and food outlets in Iceland. We ate there every night rather than go down town. Location was good if you had a car rental as it was on the edge of town and had quick access to the highways out of town. There was a taxi office right next to the hotel so you could use this to go down town although parking down town was surprisingly easy. The hotel is all pretty much contact free i.e no reception and you had codes to access the hotel and your room which all worked really well. The staff we interacted with at breakfast and dinner were all helpful and friendly ( and spoke good English). There is an underground car park which is really useful. The hotel room, albeit a little small was clean and had a good bathroom and shower. If you stop in this hotel, there are quite a few cafes near by but you have to look for them because they are tucked away in the modern looking buildings. ( a bit like Milton Keynes ) Try cafe Milano or Braud & Co.

United Arab EmiratesThere is no ramp to the entrance of the hotel, and you have to carry your bags up for around 10 stairs to get to the entrance. Limited parking spaces in the hotel basement which fills up quite fast and we have to risk parking the car on the street overnight. No kettle, water bottle or tea/coffee amenities are provided in the room.
