Extremely spacious rooms and bathrooms. Well maintained lawn where my wife and I played with volleyball in the evening. There is a heater to make the night comfortable. The staff were very helpful and informative. Very close to the grand hotel.

Our host was really nice and always happy to help us out! He also prepared a good breakfast every day - even as take-away if you have to leave early. The rooms are big and clean and have everything you need. I think there was only one outlet in the room (plus the bathroom) so we couldnt charge our phones by the bed but that is probably the definition of "first world problems", so... 😃 The hotel is a few walking minutes away from the "city center" which we personally liked as it was really nice and quiet - in contrast to the rather hectic city.

Rooms furniture seemed used (curtains not clean) but for the price it was absolutely ok

Nice big room with clean bathroom, the accommodation has 4 rooms and we were the only guests during our 1 night stay. This felt a bit weird as it is a bit older house in general but nothing against the accommodation. Just 5-7min walk to our favorite cafe: Grand Cafe.

There was absolutely nothing that I didn’t like about the property.

From the moment you arrive at Villa Cassandra you know that you are going to have a wonderfully enjoyable stay as you are greeted with a lovely smile by the delightful professional manager, Mr Lalendra. The property is absolutely spotless, rooms are so big, comfortable, full of character and extremely private. Lounge and dining area very tastefully decorated and a great place to relax with other travellers. Breakfast is not only delicious and in abundance, but presented to perfection. Lalendra’s attention to detail is commendable, as is his attentiveness and desire to provide comfort to his guests. The garden is also beautifully maintained and a credit to Lalendra. The location is so perfect, walking distance to Victoria Gardens, racecourse, Lake Gregory and a short stroll to the golf course. I can’t wait for a return visit to one of the best accommodations I have experienced and if you are ever in Nurawareliya go and visit Mr Lalendra and the beautiful Villa Cassandra, you will not be disappointed.

the curtains don’t block any sun, but for this place it’s actually quite good because you want to start early for your hike(s).

Fantastic guesthouse! The rooms are large and the shower is a dream! If you go in groups there are some nice common areas to enjoy. Breakfast was incredible! Totally recomendable.

Great location near the centre. Very clean, spacious and comfortable, quiet room, well equipped (including a hair dryer and a portable heater). Spacious bathroom with good shower and hot water. Friendly host. Breakfast basic but tasty and nicely served.

Owner is not so helpfull, e.g. noise of water dropping in a metal pipe was keeping my partner awake, but he did not want do anything against it. Breakfast at this place is with 15 dollar per person very expensive.

Dreadful management who seemed to be after money and not honouring a booking made on booking.com.

We didn’t. We booked 2 rooms for 2 couples on the 6th Jan for 1 night. I communicated many times with the owner on booking.com regarding driver accommodation and other facilities, to which he responded immediately. We arrived there inafter travelling for 6 hours on the 21/7 and found the gate locked and was yelled at by a little kid for entering the property. After being contacted by a neighbour, someone arrived and told us that he was the cleaner and had no idea about our booking and that the place was fully booked. He rang the manager numerous times, and eventually was informed by the manager that he didn’t have a booking for us and then hung up. We were also informed that he had rented the place for 2 weeks to someone else. We had to immediately find another place for the night at 5 pm.

Nuwara Eliya is quite more expensive than the rest of the cities we visited, but it is a general comment.

Well located considering that Nuwara Eliya is quite a small town. It is just outside of the city centre, quick access to famous Grand Hotel. Room was clean, very spacious, coffee/tea available in the room + other equipment (iron, scale ;), etc). The bathroom was well equipped, very nice shower with nice pressure and hot water. Breakfast was quite fulfilling with different choices according to taste. All in all a great homestay, we felt comfortable.

When we arrived at the hotel the room that we booked was not available. We had to wait in the lobby and thought our room was being prepared so we did not mind the waiting in the beginning. However, after 30 minutes we were told that instead of a king deluxe room upstairs, our only option was to stay in the twin bed room downstairs. The room was basic and the washroom was dated. At night the room was not dark at all (very thin curtain with stains) and in the morning we were woken very early by the host/people talking and later by all the guests coming down and having breakfast. This was not what we expected reading all the good reviews - but is in line with the previous bad reviews.

The beds were fine, location was nice and breakfast was okay.
