Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LuxembourgNothing, it's a lovely hotel. There are currently roadworks in the street below, but on a Friday- Saturday stay these didn't bother us at all.
Beautifully decorated hotel with comfortable rooms and a popular cocktail bar downstairs, serving great cocktails and delicious food in elegant surroundings.

GermanyThis is not the hotel's fault but one should know that aircraft departing/approaching the airport fly low and loud over this part of town. I think they stopped around 11pm and started promptly at 6am. It was a bit loud in the room every ten minutes or so. There was a live band in the restaurant. Looked fun but we were too tired to go down and watch. The courtyard rooms may experience noise from the restaurant but it ended around 1030-1100pm. This was on a Friday night.
Everything was wonderful. Not only is this a historic hotel (there's a plaque out front), it's beautifully cared for. It looks deceiving from outside, but once you are inside it is full of character and comfort. The sitting room off the lobby is very turn-of-the-century "Belle Epoque" design and we were greeted by the kindest and most helpful gentleman behind the reception desk. The hallways and stairwells and decorated with art and historic things that really add to the character! The rooms were cozy and very comfortable. I had an amazing night of sleep! The floorboards were a bit creaky but, oddly, it added to the charm of the room. The breakfast looked good, but we didn't partake as we had early plans downtown. Location was great - next to the main train station and two stops on the very clean (and free) tram to the Place Hamilius in the downtown. I would definitely stay here again!

CanadaThe internet in our room wasn't working well, there was work being done on the fibre outside, nothing the staff or hotel could do. Offered to let me work in the common areas late to accommodate. Thank you

AustraliaWe loved the hotel. A traditional hotel with great service, lovely staff and clean rooms. The breakfast was great too. Madame Jeannette , next door was a nice dinner choice as well. We particularly liked the senior aged gentleman who looked after us. Such an asset to the hotel. The location is close to the free tram which takes you to the city centre. An easy walk from the station, if travelling by train. The reception staff speak several languages. A great stay. Thank you.

United StatesThe Wi-Fi was not the best. It was serviceable but the signal in my room which overlooked Rue de Strasbourg was weak.
The reception staff was exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The breakfast while fairly basic with cooked eggs was enhanced by the ambiance of the breakfast room. There are a variety of eateries in walking distance and the tram line is a short block away providing easy access to Luxembourg sights. Luxembourg station is just 250 m. A secure car park is availble there for 20 euro/24hr. The hotel has a classic hotel vibe (it opened in the 1932) but it has been updated to modern standards.

BelgiumThe area surrounding the accommodation might not be the most comfortable for a solo woman traveler. It's located near a red-light district, with many men staying outside. However, I felt that it's generally safe to walk around during the daytime. As with any urban environment, it's important to remain vigilant and aware of your surroundings.
As a woman solo traveler, it was one of the best customer service experice I had! I normally appreciate modern design, but this hotel was a great surprise for my eyes, with a classical design with carpets and ornaments. Besides, the staff is very receptive and helpful, and assured a very fast check-in with clear instructions. The hotel's wi-fi works excellently. The room and toilet are very clean, and quiet. The breakfast is excellent for those who do not have dietary restrictions. A potential drawback for those requiring more space is the size of the room I was assigned, which was rather compact. However, it was enough for circulation and to accommodate a carry-on suitcase. Additionally, the window faced the back, thus, there was no view to speak of. But if this doesn't bother you, you'll have a very pleasant stay.

The elderly gentleman at the front desk was very nice and helpful. Gave us a map and clear directions on how to get around and what to see. He really makes the place what it is. The room was also comfortable.

United StatesExcellent room. Felt and looked very chic. Had everything you needed, including a pair of slippers (I haven't seen those in a while). The staff was excellent and though the breakfast was 20 Euros there were a lot of choices and you won't leave hungry. The place to store your bags after checkout and until you continued travel that day was a nice plus. If you're a walker, you can get to most of the in town attractions in 20 to 30 minutes. And being 5 min from the train terminal is awesome.
