Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LuxembourgToo crowded at the pool- not possible to book spa treatment on the day - the card to enter the room was deactivated at 11:00 sharp, and we couldn’t go in to pick up our stuff without the help of the cleaning lady -> the hotel should leave at least 15-30 mn buffer
Location, confort, spacious room, close parking and for free, great choice of restaurants

NetherlandsThe breakfast was ok, but a bit more variety would be appreciated.
The suite was spacious with "a design touch but not too much". The bathroom was the biggest we've ever seen, with the toiletroom apart, nice shower and bathtub. Impeccably clean, a big comfy bed. Complimentary drinks and toiletries, bathrobes and slippers are provided. Central location, several restaurants with decent food. The spa features 4 saunas and a pool, not too big, but also not too crowded. Friendly receptionists speaking not only "the usual" English/German/French but also Dutch and Russian/Ukrainian.

FranceAll the facilities (wellness area, breakfast) are shared with Koener, a cheaper and looking a bit more outdated hotel. Reception is there as well, despite what the welcome message on booking says ;) Bed sheet was barely covering the double bed, rolled in constantly. Phones in the room did not work, hair conditioner was missing. The hotel was not very responsive to the messages sent on booking before arrival. There is no door between the room and the shower - not an issue, but good to know in advance.
Room was super quiet, spacious, clean and looked rather new. Sauna was good as well overall, relaxation room had enough space for everyone, had a lot of tea options. We were checked-in earlier than the indicated check-in time.

NetherlandsStanding in front of the parking garage and no response from the reception to open the gate. Also attempt to call the hotel reception was not succesfull. Partner had to walk around to get to the reception. At the dinner my schnitzel was not of good quality. With my feedback to the waitress nothing was done. The dish of my partner was ok.
Beautiful room. People working in the hotel were friendly.

United KingdomAs other reviews said the layout takes some working out! Suites are actually part of Koener Hotel which is connected to the Suites by an internal bridge, where breakfast room and spa located. Confusing email from hotel gives wrong check in info which is unhelpful, although sign outside when you arrive, points you to Koener Hotel where the reception is located. Signage inside hotel also confusing! Pool only open 10 to 6pm which is limited and jacuzzi by pool not very warm. Soft music played in breakfast room is irritating electropop- why any music ?! Parking is expensive but in winter the public car park close by is free, so no need to pay and staff to their credit, did advise this .
Suites big and stylish with enormous comfortable beds and huge bathroom complete with jacuzzi bath . Lots of towels and robes which handy for going to pool . Coffee machine and bottled water a nice touch. Lovely to spend time in on comfy sofa and big window onto square. Quiet location as Clervaux centre is very small! Reasonable prices (for Luxembourg) in restaurants and food good quality including Luxemburg dishes in brasserie. (Very limited eating options elsewhere in village) Staff generally helpful and friendly. Pool clean and good size for swimming. Spa area looked good but be aware the sauna area is naturist! Plentiful and good choice of quality buffet breakfast options including sparkling wine which was a nice bonus. In all a lovely hotel.

United KingdomThe whole hotel complex (it is three hotels joined together) looks like its been designed by a committee or even a "cultural soviet". 'Tasteless' doesn't cover the half of it. Over-designed, difficult to find your way around, interior decoration simply ghastly and though our suite (a split-level affair) was comfortable & clean, it was dark, badly lit - impossible to see what you were doing - with bathroom facilities not near the bedroom. For these you had to find your way down a curved set of wooden stairs in the middle of the night, in the dark because the light switched were impossible to work or find. I am 71 and need a lot of visits to the bathroom! The lifts were badly designed too and since no-one offered to deliver our luggage up four floors we had to drag these up the stairs to the lift. At these prices this is not good. So "nil-point" for design! Sorry.
Excellent Breakfast and dinner. Comfortable beds, spacious rooms. We were overnighting on our way through so didn't stop long enough to enjoy the town.

BelgiumBreakfast was good, but certainly does not wow: both food offering (basic buffet-style) and setting (no window meeting room) could be improved. Navigating inside the hotel is a real challenge with signs seemingly pointing in random directions. It took us >15 mins (no joke!) to find the reception after parking the car in front of the hotel parking garage.
Stylish room with clean and fully functional bathroom; excellent location in center of Clervaux.

IrelandChecking in process was a little bit of a let down, perhaps because different hotel is doing the check in. Coffee machine in the suite was broken, and noise insulation was poor even thought it was top floor duplex suite, at night I could hear other rooms TV, people talking, baby crying. Stepping back in time seeing iPod connector to play music and having three TVs in the place. For a wellness hotel one of the bathroom robes was stained and the bath towel was ripped which was in the room, so that was disappointing.
Swimming pool was cool, lovely teas in the spa relaxation room. the suite was generous size , deco was also cool. Bathroom shower room was top top. Location to castle was also great with night time being able to see it lit up. The restaurant was good and staff were lovely there.

The suite was great, really big. Outstanding bathroom with bath and shower. Good facilities. Breakfast was big, lots of viarities. Sweet and salty. Coffee was good. Nice relaxion area in spa

Very beutifull design hotel. The room was superbly designed and the batroom was very large and confortable. The location, is also so quiet but at the center of the village. Very special. Also the offer of food was surprisinghly very good.
