Breakfast was lovely, plenty of selection. Room was lovely, although the air conditioning did not seem to make it much cooler. It would be nice to be able to open the portholes! Location was the only drawback. Although we enjoyed taking a water taxi, it would have been nicer to have been in a slightly closer location to the main centre. Staff were extraordinarily friendly and welcoming.

The food , basically the breakfasts were cold and a poor quality evening meal. Asked for a glass of water and had to pay 5 euros for a bottle.

The floor in our room wasn’t level; the headboard or bed frame could have used a shim!

Unique property and setting on the pier. The bar with live music was fun at night. We enjoyed breakfast in the lido. Perfect way to kick off a cruise leaving from the nearby port. Also appreciated the shuttle ride to the cruise terminal.

Cueing for coffee in a rather cramped space. Pain au chocolat can be such a treat but they tasted a bit stale, maybe not your finest dough?

Place: spacious and light, tastefully decorated. Reception: well organised Keeping guest informed: excellent proactive and consistent communication. Easy online checkout.

Found used leses and night cupboard next to bed. Quickly rectified by staff. Stay is getting on the pricey side.

Unique venue, experience a cruise feel hotel stay on a real ship and dream away. Good restaurants, but not all open at all times. Deluxe rooms are plenty large.

The adjoining room was unlocked upon entry when it shouldn’t have. It could have been a very awkward encounter if there was someone in the room when I checked or vice versa. Luckily the guests in that room did not arrive until after we got reception to lock the room.

Lovely bar staff and cleanliness of the room.

A fun and memorable place to stay

The ship is quite a way away from shops / restaurants. When we checked in, we didn't realise we should reserve a table at the ship's restaurant. We went up to eat, only to find we needed to wait and come back 2 hours later - wouldn't be a problem if you planned ahead (and the food was good!). The ship isn't that easy to get to. There was a large car park, but we took public transport, which meant a metro then bus to get from the centre of Rotterdam. Sometimes we walked instead of taking the bus, but it wasn't too obvious where to go. We'd have loved to have a look round the rest of the ship, but that was only possible through the tour from 10 - 5, which didn't fit with our travel plans.

A very enjoyable and novel experience, staying on this old cruise ship. The staff were in uniform, there were pictures on the wall showing it's history. We were lucky and got a surprise upgrade, getting a cabin with portholes looking out over the water. The room was lovely with some period decor, but it was also very clean and comfortable. We'll certainly have happy memories of our stay there! The ship was a bit of a maze - we were given a map so had fun, but did still get a bit lost and confused at times.

The carpet in the room was quite stained and the Deluxe room was situated below the walkway to the restaurant. Kids tend to run this section and the stomping sound is very audible the room. Also, 80% of the ship is inaccessible without further tickets.

The ship is beautiful and has a nice view on the Erasmus bridge and the Euromast from the deck

The ship could be upgraded a little. The classic interior should be kept alive off course but it can use a little bit of extra modern touches. The breakfast buffet was simple. There was only 1 bar open.

It’s a nice change in contrast to standard hotels, it was very clean, the rooms are classic but with all the necessary comfort, the elevator was quick, the staff is friendly

The value for money during diner in the Lido restaurant was not in balance. We paid full price for ok food served by a group of apprentice workers. They were very friendly but lacking the proper skills. I.e. attendant cleaned up a table and went with the dirty plates to our table to clean our table as well. They forgot the side dishes, and manager continued to set up for breakfast while her colleagues’ were struggling.

The location is very nice, Atmosphere is great on the old cruise vessel. Breakfast is good, and staff is very friendly. Enough parking space and landing dock of watertaxi is great.

I come for a number of years already, but the organisation of the staff remains a problem. They are friendly, but so disinterested and not managed well in what they do. For example waiting at the desk for 10 minutes whilst you hear them chatting 2 metres away not about work, tables uncleaned for 30 min, breakfast is served to 10.00 and at 10.00 they start hoovering the place whilst you still enjoy breakfast, etc. If the owner can change that attitude, disinterest in clients pleasure and disorganisation, SS Rotterdam may even become pleasant to stay.

Its dutch maritime history, its a lovely environment to stay

Comfortable stay, quiet room, lovely and clean. The staff were especially helpful and accommodating. The shuttle between Ship and Metro was particularly useful
