Three floors of a step spiral staircase may be difficult for some travelers.

Mary Grace was a very gracious host. She had fresh fruit, beer, water, coffee and various snacks for us in the room. The room is walking distance to Amsterdam Central and is in close proximity to many cafes and a neighborhood grocery store.

I loved everything about our stay at Flinder. It was cosy and stylish and clean and had everything I love having when I’m on holiday - a little fridge, kettle and coffeemaker, cute design, nice little extras like sweets and apples and teas and soap and a hairdryer and an overall relaxed and warm atmosphere. I didn’t miss anything and could have happily hung out in the hotel room much more, but we had to explore Amsterdam ugh (just kidding, Amsterdam‘s worth the trip, too). Also has to be mentioned that the hotel is super close to the main station and even though shops, cafes, restaurants, cinemas (everything you need in a city really) is within walking distance, the hotel is surprisingly quiet. Furthermore it has to be said that the hotel‘s owner Mary-Grace is a wonderful, kind and helpful and her dog Moby is incredibly cute - we received a warm welcome and good-bye by the two of them. We want to visit again asap!

The shower takes a while to get the temperature right but good flow of water

Quiet street near to train station and one street away from great area for food, shopping and canals. A beautiful scenic area. Once you get used to climbing the steep narrow stairs the room was very comfortable and the bed and shower were great with lots of teas and coffees and complimentary snacks. Mary Grace was very helpful and efficient. She showed us the apartment and let us leave our bags after we had checked out as we weren’t flying out until the evening.

I’m a little apprehensive to say how much my husband and I loved this property because it’s like a best-kept secret. 🤫 But, I also want to share that this GEM of an apartment exists in the old-city of Amsterdam. My husband and I traveled to Amsterdam for a celebratory weekend getaway without our kids. 😎 Flinder was PERFECT for us! It takes a little work to make your way up the steep, winding 18th century Dutch staircase, but once you land on flat ground, you will open the door to an enchanting room with antique wood beams and flooring mixed with modern day appliances (like A.C. 😅). The seamless blend of old and new is so romantic! Not only is the room wonderful, but the owner, Mary Grace, is the most gracious and helpful hostess! She helped me from the moment I Booked the apartment to the moment I stepped foot on the train to say goodbye to Amsterdam. Flinder is located in the ❤️ of Amsterdam! The location was truly amazing! It’s close to Centraal train station, Jordaan, 9 Street, Red Light, and many fantastic restaurants. Now, that I have shared the secret with everyone, I can only hope to find this awesome Booking the next time I visit Amsterdam! I’m already dreaming of a next time 😌

I didn't like the steep stairs required to access the room, the cold bathroom, and the insufficient water pressure in the shower.

I liked the central location, the cleanliness, the attentive host Mary who made us feel at home, the comfortable bed and pillows, the clean room, and the fact that Mary kindly kept our luggage after check-out, allowing us to explore the city until our departure.

After 14 hours of walking around the city and neighbouring towns, you come back home at midnight and have to go up 3 full floors by steps on tiny stairs. It's fun adventure!! <3

Imagine you're sleeping at home, in your warm bed and when you wake up you're in Amsterdam. That's the feeling you get waking up in that apartment. Perfect match for our expectations and requirements. This apartment has everything you need, including small fridge, hair dryer, microwave and kettle. Host is superfriendly.
