Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe broken elevator — which does not reach to the third floor where my room was in any case — was an issue. Worse, there was a safety issue with the third-floor spiral stairs: almost impossibly steep, with almost impossibly narrow treads, and with scrap-lumber "stabilization" of what looks like some pretty serious structural issues. I nearly injured myself a couple of times ascending during my visit, and damaged my property on the way out.
Staff was delightful: friendly, available and helpful. Amenities were great. "Africa"-themed room was delightfully quirky and comfortable. Location turned out to be good for what I was doing.

United StatesAmbiance lamps in the room were broken, it was no big deal, just distracting for a min.
The room was wonderful, imaginative and comfortable to stay in. Breakfast was amazing the next morning, it really hit the spot, and gave us energy to explore. I enjoyed the location in Delft, easy to get to the center, with shops and good food all around. My daughter LOVED it!

CanadaMake sure your room is not at the front of the hotel. Very noisy all the time. Cafe outside the front door, which extends into the hotel Does not close till midnight.. Had to walk through it to enter the hotel, no lobby or anywhere to sit if you did not want to eat.
Could walk everywhere. Breakfast was good

CanadaEnsuite bathrooms (as with some other European hotels) were not as private as we were used to. Small rooms as is typical.
Great breakfast - newly renovated dining facilities and excellent food choices. Order the scrambled eggs! All included in room price. Location was great - 5 minute walk along the canal to main square. Excellent restaurants close by. Wonderful restaurant across the street in a small square - Hanno Cafe. Lobby/bar/restaurant area was very nice and inviting.

United KingdomThe hotel was having some work done and so the lift was out of action. This didn’t bother me as I usually use the stairs anyway and I didn’t have much luggage. However, to get to my third-floor room I had to climb an extra flight of very steep stairs with a tight corner and little to hold onto, almost like a ladder. I didn't think this was safe and I worried about falling (I'm in my 60s, quite fit but I have osteoporosis so I'm wary) I think they should at least have asked me if I minded this climb. I was told it was a room upgrade so I didn’t want to seem ungrateful. I probably would have asked to change rooms, on reflection- except that on the first evening I discovered I'd lost my passport on the train journey and everything else paled into insignificance!
Interesting hotel with themed bedrooms in a great location. Despite the buzzy atmosphere in the square my room on the top floor was really quiet. The upgrade to the Chinese- themed room was welcome and I had a sunken bath and a bed which went up and down. Also an amazing view over the roofs of Delft. Breakfast was good and there were plenty of restaurants nearby. Friendly staff.

GermanyThe rooms needed renovation. The bathroom isn't totally separated from the room. The walls didn't go all the way to the ceiling and there weren't really doors so in the middle of the night if you needed to use the bathroom the motion lights and sounds would wake everyone else up in the room. I'm not sure if all rooms were set up light this, but ours was. The elevator was out of service while we were there which wasn't a problem for us, but might be for others. There is not a refrigerator in the rooms, but there is a communal one down the hallway which was a nice thing to have available.
Breakfast was wonderful. Location was just a short walk from the main city center. We were able to park in the small lot right next to the hotel for free.

NetherlandsA little bit messy downstairs because they were renewing the restaurant, which will look great when it’s finished somewhere this month. We also received a discount coupon for any inconvenience.
Nice unique rooms sadly the special rooms weren’t available otherwise I would have loved to try one of them.

United KingdomThe hotel was undergoing a major refurbishment of the dining area but it was not a problem at all to me. They communicated before i confirmed my booking, about how it would be and had provided an alternative space for breakfast and reading.. The noise didn't disturb me at all , I didn't hear it as it was not early in the morning or in the evening
I love the location, very near to the town centre and lots of lovely things to do and see within walking distance, also not far from the train by foot either. I think the staff are very friendly and welcoming and the room was really clean . I enjoyed the choices for breakfast too, plenty to set me up for the day

United KingdomUnfortunately the elevator was out of action, hence my mobility impaired wife preferred to accept a regular room on the first floor rather than the suite we had originally booked which was located on the 2nd floor; the cost difference was (sort of) repaid to us informally by the kitchen reheating an outside dinner we had taken away from a restaurant. The single staff members on duty tended to take quite a while noticing that customers needed attention.
Superb location in central Delft, with its own free car parking in the courtyard. Friendly reception with excellent English. Interesting and quirky hotel theme - all about trees and the forest, with extensive artwork to implement this. Comfortable pub-like dining/breakfast room with good breakfast spread.

United Statessadly, the elevator was out of order which made lugging our bags to and from the 3rd floor (4th for Americans) unpleasant.

United KingdomThe room was a little dingier than the pictures. They also run out of fresh bread fast in the morning so make sure you get to breakfast early. There was not so much left by just before 10am when we got there.
This is a lovely hotel - very environmentally sustainable. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was comfortable and had what we needed. The breakfast has locally produced and organic produce available which is great. The lounge area and outside square is very nice for working in or meeting friends in the day. Lively at nighttime too with a great Asian fusion restaurant on the square.

AustraliaWould have loved a kettle in our room for tea making. The kettle which was provided upstairs was quite noisy and we were concerned about disturbing the other guests as we liked an early morning cuppa. Perhaps making one available to borrow on request would be good.
The location was great as was the breakfast. Plenty of choice. Friendly atmosphere in the Hotel. Felt like we were in the centre of the action and also easy access to the churches, other Monuments and markets in the square. The charm of the hotel matched the charm of Delft.
