Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsHousekeeping forgetting to clean the room one day
The overall experience at the Park hotel was great. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast although served as buffet was very good. The indoor swimming pool is clean and at a comfortable temperature. Great value and we will definitely go back

NetherlandsThere was a swimming pool with nice heated water. Too bad there were no extra towels available (extra service!). Our room was quite small for the price we paid for it. It looked like the bathroom was almost the same size as the room. At night it was quite noisy in the hall, people shut the doors very hard or the doors closed heavily. Not pleasant when you travel with a baby.
The hotel was within walking distance of a center with shops and restaurants. The breakfast was diverse where you had a station where fresh pancakes and omelettes were prepared for you

NetherlandsThere were swimming classes scheduled during the school holidays the pool was non accessible between noon and 6 pm. The pet fee to pay per night is quite high and no extra were offered for the dog. In general not many extra such as a bottle of water etc. The bed was not so comfortable and the matras seemed outdated so was the design of the room. Also the cleaning staff switched our room and when we came back to the hotel after dinner the room had not been cleaned so no fresh towels and bed made. The offer of television channel is extremely limited to the minimum. We had a much better experience the two previous time when we came.
The location, friendly and helpful staff.

NetherlandsThe room was outdated, but comfortable. The only real disadvantage of the room is the noise from other guests. It sounded like the walls are made of paper. (I could hear the neighbours television and their telephone ringing for instance)
The room was very clean, and everything was there. Large comfortable bed. The staff is very friendly! The location is perfect for visiting Valkenburg centre (10 minute walk) The breakfast is fantastic! The pool and wellness are great! I would stay here again!

BelgiumAreas for Improvement: -Lack of In-Room Amenities: The room lacked complimentary water bottles, which is a common convenience in many hotels. -Room Service Communication: Although room service is advertised, essential details such as the reception phone number, price list, and menu were missing. Reliance solely on QR codes for information can be inconvenient; a simple printed guide in the room would be much appreciated. -Wi-Fi and Contact Information: The absence of easily accessible information like the Wi-Fi code and reception contact details in the room was a notable oversight. -Noise Levels: The cleaning staff were noticeably loud in the hallways during the morning, engaging in phone calls and conversations. This disturbance significantly impacted our sleep quality, leading to a need for a late checkout.
Highlights of the Hotel Experience: -Exceptional Staff: The hotel staff were notably friendly and accommodating, contributing to a welcoming and pleasant atmosphere. -Prime Location: The hotel's location is ideal, offering easy access to local attractions, dining, and shopping areas, enhancing the overall convenience of the stay. -Flexible Checkout Policy: The option for a late checkout is a significant advantage, allowing for a more relaxed and unhurried departure experience.

NetherlandsThings are a little old and beat up - its a great retro 1970's feel that could use a little sprucing up.
Breakfast was good, lots of choices. Pool was lovely and so was the sauna. Staff was terrific so friendly and eager to help. Bed linens top notch. I really enjoyed the bar/coffee and reading area. Quiet location just a 5 minute walk to center of historic area of town.

NetherlandsThe breakfast room was not big enough for the number of guests. It was difficult to find a seat, difficult to walk to get to the food. You had to queue for 5-10 mins to get your freshly made eggs or omelet. The omelet was very tasty though. Breakfast was not very relaxing. My room fridge did not work. The water for the shower was not very warm. There were horrible cracks in my sink.
The pool and sauna were lovely. The lobby was very welcoming with a beautiful Xmas tree. The bar staff were friendly. The location was fantastic with a car park. My room had lovely tall windows with a great view.

NetherlandsThe stench from the bathroom was totally overpowering which obviously entered into the sleeping area every time the bathroom door was opened. I believe it was coming from the shower/sink drain but only minimally improved after taking a shower/wash.
We did not indulge in the spa or breakfast facilities as we were there for the Christmas experience that is Volkenburg. Coffee making facilities in the room were acceptable but the possibility of making 2 cups each would have been nice. The shower pressure was superb as was the bed & pillows etc, one of the best nights sleep in a hotel ever which was surprising given my comment below.

NetherlandsThe rooms. I paid an extra €40,00 for an upgrade from basic room to comfort room. No one could explain to me the difference. The rooms was dreadfully small. The shower and toilet area were built for children. I have never seen such smaller shower and toilets area anywhere on my travels. Shower area was about 50 cm x 50 cm with a plastic curtain hanging on a rail to stop the splashing. Sitting on the toilet my knees were under the wash basin. The beds were really over soft and the TV channels were very limited for such a star hotel. No English channels (BBC 1, 2 or 3). TV was also very small. Thus the rooms killed the weekend there for us. They don't live up to rest of the hotel. We were on 0 (zero) floor. Also the bar was of poor quality. They couldn't make any cocktails because they had run out of the various ingredients to make them. No excuse on the first Friday night of the Christmas Market. The hotel was packed. Pity. We loved Valkenburg
Location is fantastic plus the parking. The pool was also fantastic. Good size and warm. Breakfast was ok. People were helpful and friendly.

NetherlandsThe room is quite stuffy, it smells like cigarette buds. Some of the walls and furniture could use some painting.
Very nice hotel, with a lot of noble history. Breakfast is great, with live cooking. The swimming pool is very nice, with good water temperature. Location is another major plus, very close to the Sprookjesbos, a kid's attractions park. Valkenburg is a nice tow, with plenty opportunities to relax, have fun, and have culinary experiences.

NetherlandsThey could put a bit more extra in the rooms like snacks and coffee machine nespresso or else for this value and standard. Also preserving and eating food could be a little later like 21.30- 22.00
The classic look do the hotel, the pool and comfortable beds, the staff was very friendly ans they have excellent nacho’s at the bar.
