Great location, good facilities, a really pleasant stay.

The room was a bit dark. The indoor lighting was not adequate and the single window that was available was not enough.

Really great location, we didn't buy a single transportation ticket. Everywhere we wanted to visit was in walking distance (even though we did get tired). The room was adequate and clean, facilities were useful. Staff was more than helpful.

Charming heritage hotel along the canal but be wary of room #302
    • Leisure trip

    • Junior Suite
    • Stayed 3 nights

I didn't realize quite how steep and narrow the stairwells are up to room #302 and didn't actually realize that was the room I had booked. It just said 'junior suite' on Booking.com so I didn't really know what to expect. When you enter the room there is a very narrow, steep, spiral staircase to the actual room. Once up there, a network of beams crisscrosses the middle of the room and you have to navigate around them to get to the sink and then again to get to the toilet room and shower. It's interesting getting up at night as you have to make sure you don't brain yourself on the beams or fall down the staircase of death, lol. There is also only one very small window (maybe 18X18?) that looks at the roof next door so it's pretty dim in there. I felt like we paid quite a lot for what we got but would stay here again in a different room.

The location was great and staff were very helpful and accommodating. It is a charming heritage hotel along the canal. I think we just chose the wrong room, I'm sure other rooms are much more comfortable. Our room was quite spacious and the bed was very comfy with nice linens. Fixtures such as shower and sink are updated and modern. The staff was very good about hauling our heavy luggage up to the room which was great because we would have had quite a time with it. We're in our 60s and reasonably fit but it would have been a struggle, lol.

Can't fault the place. Really enjoyed it and wished I could have stayed longer.

Check in was easy and efficient with friendly and helpful staff. Room was a great size with a view overlooking the canal as an added bonus. Bed was comfy and bathroom was really nicely put together. Location was great, 2 min walk to tram 4 and 14 which basically connects you you to wherever you want to go, and 1 minute walk to all Rembrandt square has to offer. Room very good value for the location.

True Amsterdam experience with this property!

We weren’t aware how inaccessible it was - in terms of lots of steep stairs (in an old building!). It was manageable but I think being more up front on that would be helpful for this property as it could be a huge barrier for some but worked ok for us (with gracious help from the staff with our luggage!). It can also be a bit loud - again old building - has SO much charm but also has the impact of being an old building. Manageable (and ear plugs provided!) but that’s the trade off for a nice central location!

The location is great being so close to the center and canal district. The staff were super friendly and helpful with everything we needed while we were there.

    – Not much light in the room: only a few small lamps, small windows and only a few plugs – Environment loud at night (but that's due to the party mile directly in front of the hotel) – No Wardrobe; only a few possibilities to hang something

    – Very friendly and helpful staff – located in the city centre - near to nice restaurants and shops – modern style of the hotel rooms – espresso machine in the room

I have to say, this was one of the best hotels that I’ve stayed in Amsterdam. Good value for money and the location was excellent, the staff was very friendly and helpful and the cleanliness and the facilities were amazing. The room was ready early and they allowed us to check in early which was really great, saved us a lot of time. I would definitely recommend

The windows, despite offering a great view of the city, were filthy . Please clean them . Storage space is very limited for hanging clothes . Selling a 1 little bottle of water for 4 euros in reception when you’ve paid £200 a night for a room is unnecessary . Also, having to go downstairs to reception every morning to ask for milk was a minor inconvenience .

Location was great . Just set back from Rembrandtplein and a mere couple of minutes walk to the tram stop to take you into the centre . The view from room 102 with its 180 degree windows was really cool. The double mattress was slightly on the hard side but very comfy . En suite shower was excellent and the bed was made and the room was tidied every day . Very pleasant staff. The outside street can get noisy at night but the double glazing removed 95% of the problem . We slept well .

    Nothing to not like.

Room was cosy and perfect with canal view. We stayed in a Prem double, spacious and a spacious bathroom area which is through an archway with a separate door for the lavatory. The hotel is located just outside the touristy areas which was lovely. But only 5- 10 mins walk from the main square and shopping streets. Plenty of restaurants and bars close by. Hosts were welcoming and went above and beyond throughout our stay. Would recommend and definitely be staying again. Thank you

The stairs are as steep as you would expect in an old Amsterdam house but the staff carried up the luggage for you so you didn’t have to carry any heavy bags up the stairs. Lighting in the rooms is pretty low level / would have been good to have a reading lamp or similar for extra light by the bed.

The hotel was very central ( 2 mins from the tram stop at Rembrantsplein ) in a lovely building. Staff were very helpful and responsive at all times and the building is beautiful. Liked the radiator in the room so you could easily control the temperature and the windows opened too. Our rooms ( premium rooms) were a good size and the bathroom was well thought out. My room overlooked the canal but wasn’t noisy at night. Coffee machine, kettle and small fridge all in the room. Would stay here again.
