Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe shower was combined in the same room as the toilet like some sailboats. This meant the whole bathroom floor was always wet after a shower. I am not a fan of this setup, however this would not stop me staying here again. The staircase is very narrow and steep which would be a challenge for anyone with mobility issues or small children. The room itself was also small, but sufficient.
I liked the neighbourhood and the nearby transit and grocery stores. It was close to the Vondel park. The room had a coffee maker which is always a bonus. The room and surrounding area was very quiet and I had a good sleep. The shower had hot water which was good and had decent water pressure.

United KingdomThere was a kettle and tea bags etc in the room but no mugs. When we asked for some, the person on the desk refused to provide them, saying she wasn't allowed to give them out.

United KingdomWe stayed at the top of the building and the room was accessible via steep and narrow stairs. Would be an issue with mobility problems or lots of luggage.
Good value considering it was Kings Day. Expected for what we paid for the room it to be a dump, and it was surprisingly very good, basic but was what we wanted as only staying in the room to sleep.

ItalyThe bathroom was actually really small. The stairs were very narrow and steep, so if you carry a big luggage it can be hard. Nonetheless I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel
I really liked its location. The tram stop was just a few minutes away from the hotel. The neighborhood is lovely and close to the park, which is always a plus. The staff was friendly and welcoming!

Iraq- Room was so small. I reserved a double room to find myself -I think- in small single room. A friend of mine came to stay with me and he reserved a double room, bigger than mine and with a small balcony for less than what I already paid! That makes me question what booking.com says about "Best price guaranteed" I'm not talking about small difference, I paid nearly 100 euros per night, while my friend paid only 63 e for better room! - When I asked them to change my room twice, but wasn't possible. - Stairs are really dangerous. - The rooms are not soundproof.
Good location, Jumbo market just 100m away, an Albert Heijn market about 10 minutes walk. Museumplein too is in walking distance. Easy access to public transportation, tram line no. 2 is passing in front of the hotel. You can use bus line no 397 from\to the airport. The hotel is good if you don't travel with children or aged people.

United KingdomMy room was in the hotel's annexe, which is two doors down from the main entrance, and the room itself was up a long, very steep / narrow staircase. This wasn't a problem for me, just a bit of extra training! but unexpected and would be problematic for those less fit or after a few Dutch gins! I also forgot to take the credit card I made the booking with, which took a while to sort out and I didn't understand that I had not paid the Amsterdam 'hotel tax' with the booking, which was a bit confusing as the booking said it included taxes, but in fact (and I double checked this) I had not been charged the full amount.
I went to Amsterdam to take part in the annual international half marathon race, a huge event which also includes a full marathon and 8k race. The hotel is about 20 minutes walk (I'm a quick walker) from the race start / finnish (the Olympic Stadium). Close enough for me to walk back after I'd finished the race as none of the trams were running (due to the races). The room was great and there was a great local supermarket nearby with plenty of cheap eats. Staff were very helpful. The hotel is on the main tram route 2, so getting in and out of central Amsterdam was really easy / quick. The hotel is also situated in a more residential area, not a tourist hot spot, so has a more genuine dutch feel to it and was pretty quiet, so I got a good nights sleep before the race.

United KingdomThe walls are very thin, you could hear peoples conversations from the room next door. Even people coming in and out of their rooms or just walking in the hallway, so I would say if you’re a light sleeper, don’t use this hotel as you will be disturbed easily. The bathroom wasn’t the cleanest - mould and hair on tiles.
I liked the convenience of the tram stop just outside, meaning you could get into central very easily. The bed was very comfy, and was just enough room for one person. The lady who checked meeting was very lovely and very helpful. Plenty of tea, and shower room things to use also! They even came to make my bed and tidy up while I was out.
