Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI would suggest a few minor repairs (wobbly doorknobs), some more basics in the kitchenette (although it was as described), and perhaps a deeper clean of some areas that were a bit dusty.
The host was warm and helpful, and provided a personal tour, complete with family history connected to the property. It was in a beautiful, serene location, ideal for a relaxing getaway. I stayed in an apartment and also had access to the common areas of the main house (amazing library!).

Owner very friendly and knowledgeable. Tour of the old buildings including the farm house. What a treasure trove of antiques and unusual artifacts Accommodation was comfortable and again unusual with artifacts on the wall. Never stayed in a room with pitchfork and takes as wall art

CanadaOur bedroom had a heater so it was warm, but the other rooms were cool. The weather was cool and I imagine it would be hard to heat. It didn’t detract from our stay but I do recommend having warmer clothes if you need them.
The continental breakfast was good. The common rooms such as living room, dining room, and library were furnished in keeping with being a historical landmark. Diogo (the host) gave us a great tour of the buildings.

CanadaYard could have been brighter at night with more outdoor lighting. We missed TV in the room but walked to the main house to watch news, etc. WiFi in our room was sporadic.
The location is perfect...........short drive to Nazare,, Fatima and other attractions. Diogo is a super host & speaks perfect English. The room was large with balcony view of the countryside. Breakfast was ok but could have been better with scrambled eggs. Very private & quiet property and safe.

United StatesMattress was a little hard but it’s a matter of personal preference.
Amazing property, it’s like a museum, with antiques, and history. It has all modern amenities, in an ancient setting. Quiet place, clean, comfortable, secured. Large property with garden. Good breakfast in a building with museum items. There is a bar , “honesty bar” where you help yourself to drinks. Very close to Nazaré.

United StatesMattress, pillows and blankets/ bed covers need to be replaced for better quality sleep . We can appreciate antique furnishings whilst still expecting comfortable mattresses and pillows. Additionally perhaps some better instructions as to certain direction better to enter the village en route to the manor house to avoid the most narrow of streets where gps is hit and miss would be helpful. Overall we enjoyed our stay .
The owners very hospitable and kind and good at relaying history of Portugal , home , family and Fatima . The lady attending to us at breakfast worked very hard to assure our comfort and preferences. The rooms were clean .

New ZealandIt would have been good to have a fridge in our room.
What an amazing property – a greatly loved historic monastery that has been in the same family for seven generations. On arrival we were met by the owner, Diego, and he explained the history of the property and the farm. He is such a welcoming host and passionate about the house, its history and cultural significance. We stayed in a double room in the main building. The bedroom had a queen size bed and there was an ensuite bathroom. We also had use of a lovely lounge area, traditional library and outdoor seating areas. There is an ‘honesty bar’ where guests record what they drink – such a great idea. Continental breakfast was also included and was a real treat to sit in the amazing older part of the property for breakfast. For dinner we walked to a local restaurant in the village - recommended by Diego and certainly a lovely meal and great service. This is such a special property and we loved our stay. We would definitely stay here again.

United StatesThe furniture in the room could be updated, but we understand that the renovation project is still a work in process.
This converted farm is located in a small village about 10-15 minutes from the touristy hustle bustle of Nazare, and it's worth the drive. The rooms are old and rustic but comfortable, some with kitchen facilities. Breakfast was excellent and served at a large table so that the guests were naturally encouraged to speak with each other. Our host, the owner, was gregarious and very welcoming. The property used to supply the monastery in Alcobaca, which is ten minutes away and worth a visit. When you go to the monastery, be sure to taste the best natas in Portugal, which are across the street in an amazing bakery.

I recommend Quinta do Campo to anyone who wants to immerse themselves in the history of Portugal. A grand and important property still in family ownership being carefully renovated. the owner is very generous with access to family living spaces. Drove in to Nazaré for dinner and had fantastic seafood there.
