Shame restaurant on site is not open in evening, but you can walk (down a lot of steps and slopes) into the town.

Beautiful hotel, great views and even in the pool you can see down to the river and a cross to the vines. Breakfast was very good and staff very friendly. The house cat knows how to relax and once here it is easy to join in and chill out. Big underground garage of the road for free parking.

The road works closed the road to the hotel both ways. The only access was a very very steep road driving against the one way system. Very hairy coming down.

Excellent receptionist who was very helpful. Room had a kettle and a balcony. Breakfast was good. Great views across the valley. Nice swimming pool. Very enjoyable stay.

Absolutely nothing!

An amazing find. So glad we struggled up the hill because this place is absolutely worth it. I can’t believe it’s only 3* because it is fabulous!

The swimming pool is nice but not heated, the water was too cold to use it even though the outside temperature was not cold. The location is quite out of town, a taxi is needed from the train station if arriving with luggage.

The hotel appears to be quite new, our room was very comfortable with a large balcony, and had a great view over Pinhao and the Douro river. Breakfast was good.

Transport into the township cost 10 Euros for a 3 minute trip. A shuttle bus would make this hotel a must-stay. Walking is very difficult for elderly patrons as it is very steep.

I have no complaints.

Each day dinner was an amazing experience. Visiting the winery and the wine tasting sessions are, to my mind, obligatory. Wonderful wines, drink slowly, they keep topping you up....

No milk had to ask for it. Milk bottle was empty. No bread for toasting. Had to ask for it. Then it was brought to the toasting area and the other guests got there first. Ask again for bread and was told there was not any bread left. For a hotel to run out of bread is very poor.

Location, you have to climb a bit, especially at night when the taxis down are not available. And the hotel doors close at 23:00 so you have to manage your time to come back in time.

The view is fantastic and staff very friendly. Excellent parking facility and within walking distance to downtown. Breakfast was good and gòd variety.

Regarding breakfast, there is room for improvement. A wider variety of high-quality products would enhance the overall experience. Additionally, it’s worth noting that the air conditioning is centrally controlled, limiting individual adjustments within the rooms.

The hotel is conveniently located in Pinhão, making it an ideal choice for guests with a car. However, for those without a car, I recommend considering other accommodations.

Our host was welcoming, attentive and was very helpful suggesting things to do and see in town. The view from our room was delightful, the breakfast and breakfast staff were great and the hotel itself was lovely and relaxing to be around.

Modern and central, clever parking and great breakfast

This is a very steep walk from the town and it’s impossible to get a taxi. Pre book a taxi if you need one. A lot of people would struggle with the elevation / incline. The breakfast was very basic, very small selection of a few cooked bits, all the rest laid out on a small table. Didn’t try the restaurant which is down in the town (separate to where have breakfast on the hotel) as there’s nicer places and you don’t get anything extra for being a guest of the hotel.

The balcony was lovely (bigger than the room). The pool looked great but was not heated so we didn’t use. The views are beautiful but as we were out all day we didn’t really get to enjoy them as was too dark at the end of the day. The hotel was clean and good shower. Would stay again if had a car and driving through. But that still doesn’t help with getting back in the evening and after port tasting so would give up the view and stay down in the town or by the by water - views just as nice down there.

Nothing we didn’t like.

We had a very easy and lovely stay at LBV. We arrived early by car and were able to drive straight into the parking garage, head out for the day and come back later in the night to properly check in - this made it really easy. The room was nice for what we needed and the property was lovely!
