Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaOur lovely host Ana met us when we arrived and immediately welcomed us with a cup of tea. She was a font of knowledge about Portugal and gave us many good tips on where we should visit. The surroundings were peaceful and quiet but not too far from places of interest. We had the use of a well appointed kitchen and Ana served us a delicious breakfast. We were very sad that we could only stay one night.

PortugalBe aware that the property isn't fenced so adventurous pets may wonder off. Though they accept pets, didn't feel that our young curious dog was very welcomed (unrelated to noise or mess, or lack thereof): puppy in a new place = enthusiastic sniffing. Not having shower gel or shampoo caught us off-guard (used hand wash, worked fine so no big deal).
Great location, just a few minutes by car from Castelo de Vide (it's quite far by foot). The historic building, decorated in a minimalistic yet functional style, is in a calm area so it's great to just relax. The room was well cleaned. Wonderful breakfast. And, of course, the lovely Geppetto!

Maltanothing bad but you definitely need a car to get to this place and the closest village is Castelo de Vide.
was greeted upon arrival by Ana the owner. We parked our car on the private premises with no parking issues. Our room was ground floor and not a large but room had the necessary things. There is a communal kitchen where you can make tea/coffee. Breakfast was served in the morning consisting of bread, cakes, jams, fresh fruits yoghurt, cereal. Ana was a delight to talk to and we discussed many things amongst which travelling. She also has a lovely friendly dog. I recommend staying at Pensao Destino which is quite a curiosity since it was an ex. train station but today is cosily converted into a B&B.

PortugalA wonderful location, a few kilometres from the town, but all the better for the calm, even silence at night, the outlook with trees and nature - and then, delightful staff (and Geppetto the dog) who made the stay memorable. Wonderful, thanks!

Very cute little place in a renovated train station, excellent breakfast, and very helpful staff--when I needed to find a Covid test they helped me call around to many different places in the area. Well located just a few minutes outside of Castelo de Vide in the beautiful countryside

GermanyThis is a wonderful experience in an authentic old train station with old tiles and other objects. You sit outside on the platform and are enjoying the sunset and a glass of wine. Atmosphere like in "Waiting for Godot" and then a herd of goats came by with the bells ringing. Rooms and bathrooms are modern and working well. Service and breakfast are very good.

LuxembourgThis place lies in a bit of nowhere, so you have to take the car for getting a restaurant. But on the other hand it is kind of magic with the rails and this nicely decorated train station. For this price more than a good deal. You are 3min away from castelo de vide and 17min from the next bigger supermarket but since the area is generlly less populated thats okay
The internet was a bit slow, but all in all there is not much to complain about.

PortugalThere was nothing I didn't like. Some people may not like the fact that the pensão is a little out of town, as train stations often are in Portugal, but for me this was an added bonus as all I could hear at night were the crickets and the occasional herd of goats.
Beautiful reconverted railway station. The host, Anabela, was very attentive and made an extra special effort to make sure everything was perfect. I'm not a big eater in the mornings but the breakfast was very good and more than you would expect for the price.
