It took us ages to work out how the heater in the room worked. It would be helpful if the staff showed folk how it worked when they checked in.

It was great to have access to the coffee and cakes in the basement during the day and evening.

We’re both just over 6 foot and food the bed too short, sounds small but makes for achy ankles 🥲 and poor sleep.

Excellent location, very clean and nicely presented. Pleasant soaps and lotions. Delicious and varied breakfast, fresh and kept replenished. All day Nespresso and homemade cake too, mmm. Staff very helpful, organising taxis and a fab Douro valley trip.

The walls were very thin, so you could easily hear your neighbors talking, walking and watching TV.

The hosts where wonderful, always very helpful. The room was small but clean and you had everything you needed. Great breakfast. The hotel is located a little bit outside of the City Center but within a couple of walking minutes you where right in the middle of everything.

Might have been difficult to find at night, we took a taxi from airport.

Helpful staff. We arrived late at night, ( after 11pm) Reception helped with our luggage, gave directions for next morning with map, brought water to our room. Exceptionally polite young man. Thank you. The bed was extremely comfortable. Didn’t get to have tea & cake in the cute dining room but it is available all day & night , except during breakfast service. Very nice touch.

We really had no complaints.

Pretty much everything was great from the moment we were met at the door by the friendly and helpful staff. The check in process was easy, the room was clean and brought, the breakfast was very good and was a very complete meal; more than just a continental breakfast. Coffee is available all day. The location was great. Very quiet yet within just a five - or ten-minute walk from lots of places to eat, drink, and sightsee. It's in the older part of town, so be ready for lots of old beautiful buildings and some very narrow streets and sidewalks.

Everything was acceptable for a short stay.

The room was a little smaller than we would have liked but adequate for our 5 night stay. The staff were wonderful. Very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was great. Plenty of choice and excellent quality, mostly continental style but very very good and you could also have complimentary tea/coffee and cake in the afternoon after 4pm! The location was perfect, in a quiet part of town but just a short walk from cafes, shops, a shopping mall and supermarket and if you don't mind walking, a 25-30 minute walk to the port area.

A little strange and kind of gross that you can’t flush toilet paper and have to put it in the waste basket , but have stayed in hotels in other countries a couple of times that have this kind of problem with the plumbing.

The bedroom cleaning was always late around 3-4pm. Some days we wanted to come back to the room and rest, so we can go back out at night, but we're interrupted by house cleaning. Because of this most days our room was not cleaned, because we were in the room when house cleaning wanted to clean. Most hotels we have stayed at clean the rooms in the morning and before 3pm.
