Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

UkraineI liked everything. This is one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in. It was even better than I expected. Absolutely magical breakfasts (buffet, like in hotels 3 stars and above). Central location. All main attractions are within walking distance. Cleanliness: yes, it was really clean here even though all the beds in the eight-bed room were occupied. I would also like to note that the hostel is located in an ancient building, that is, you feel like an inhabitant of a medieval castle, but very cozy and with all the amenities.

United KingdomNothing, all totally excellent.
Excellent location. It is in picturesque Ribeira, yards from the river. Walkable to everywhere you will want to go in Porto. The staff could not be more helpful or nicer. Lourenco is a totally sound guy. The exterior of the building is a work of art in itself. The interior is 4/5 star, comfortable, modern and totally lovely. The breakfast room is really nice, as is the breakfast. Live music in the basement bar at nights is a bonus. Big tv in lounge is ace, comfortable working spaces too. You will not be disappointed in this place in any way. I couldn't think of a better place to stay in the city.

United StatesIt is noisy due to busy traffic and heavy tourist area. There is no place to hang wet laundry.
It is less than 3 minutes walk to the river, where many restaurants and the main attractions are located. Beds are clean and comfortable.

United KingdomThe front door is a bit confusing at night time, but I definitely think it was our fault in not understanding
The beds were so comfortable I was blown away, especially considering bunk beds get a bad reputation, but absolutely lovely. And the view from our room was just incredible we could see the river and just an incredible location. The staff were so helpful and friendly you really feel welcomed

MaltaThe hostel is absolutely correct in having Central in its name as I cant imagine it being more central than this. It’s very close to the shore and Ponte Luiz I and you can get to pretty much any point of interest on foot. The property is very well maintained and has a very “antique meets modern” aesthetic. Staff were helpful throughout the stay! The rooms are relatively large and come with a shared bathroom per room. Beds are comfortable and are equipped with a lamp, socket, 2 USB-A charging ports and a privacy curtain. Lockers underneath the bed are very spacious. Highly recommended and good value hostel!

UruguayDoesn’t have a kitchen or anything like it. It’s more a hotel than a hostel. And not much cleaning in the toilets.
Good Location. Very Nice building. The best is the buffet breakfast for 7 e. I would recommend it but you need to know that you won’t be able to cook or heat anything.

United StatesLimited accessibility in the entrance of the hotel. Staff had to open the side door every time I needed to get in and out of the hotel because the main entrance is inaccessible. The solution is so simple. They just needed to install a portable ramp which is inexpensive to make sure wheelchairs can get in and out without having to be assisted all the time by the busy staff.
Location was super, right in the middle of everything. Staff Maria and Gonzalo were wonderful. They did well to help me with my access needs as a solo traveler with a disability. They let me use a fully accessible bathroom. Maria even arranged my transport to the airport. She’s a wonderful and hardworking lady. I sincerely appreciate all her effort in making my stay enjoyable and comfortable. Thank your Maria and Gonzalo.

ColombiaThe place doesn't have a kitchen or a place to prepare a meal, coffee or fill water of your bottle you must ask to the staff. This is strange for a hostel. The bathroom needs cleaning more times.
I love the woman room. I really like because has a private bathroom. The location is perfect because is near to the river and a lot of sightseeings.

CanadaIt was a bit noisy - wear earplugs, and someone put the heat on in the middle of the night - I was roasting in my top bunk.
This is a great place to start your Camino. It is very close to the river, so you can just walk down the street for a minute and then follow the river, keeping it on your left. The rooms were clean and I loved the bunks with the privacy curtain, shelf and outlet for charging your device.

United StatesGreat Hostel localization, reasonably clean bathrooms, good furniture and sleeping arrangements (at least in a shared-room for 8 people and good (somewhat boring) breakfast options for longer stays. Because of excellent/central localization, it will be rather noisy, with traffic basically all night long. Was it perfect ? No, but the problems I had (important just for the Hostel and I) were addressed at some point in my 5-night stay (later than sooner, but eh…). Cleaning team was good and Reception squad (in special Goncalo & Maria Ines), were fabulous, always going out of their ways to help, they are an asset for the company, hopefully they will be recognized as they should. I just wish the general Manager would have been more interested as someone holding such a position should be, never once was I approached to share my experience. Had I been a Manager, I would definitely mingle more and be more involved, especially when issues are brought up to their attention.

United KingdomBuffet breakfast can't cope with large groups. Everything was gone really quickly and they couldn't refill quick enough. Should probably book time slots with large groups so can make enough food for everyone. But otherwise a nice breakfast.
