Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

IrelandRoom was a bit outdated and although it is ok for a short stay (for example, if you are attending a conference), it is not the most comfortable bed (very small)... The staff (when around) didn't engage at all, so be prepared to have to find things around by yourself (like the breakfast room, the available option for breakfast, etc...)
Convenient location thanks to the train line (to get to the city) and the Expo (where I had to attend an event). Travelling from the airport, it is easy to get to the Hotel using public transport (although you need to allocate the time to travel).

United KingdomThe bed could have been more comfortable and the pillow was worn out. The walls appear to be paper thin and although the hotel is in a quiet location you would hear noise from the corridor and other guest rooms.
Decent hotel in good location where you get what you pay for. Clean, professional staff, okay breakfast. I stayed in a room without bathroom and there were enough of the shared ones to avoid queues.

ItalyI had booked a room with shared shower and toilet. I arrived a little early and my room was not ready. The friendly man at the reception then let me have a room with its own shower and toilet at no extra cost. The following morning I woke up early and longed for a coffee. The friendly woman who was preparing the breakfast let me have a cup of coffee.

SwedenToasting gluten free bread was not possible. I had to use the microwave to heat it up but it made the bread into biscuts. Would be nice if there was one toaster for only gluten free bread.

HungaryTo go to the shared bathroom you had to juse your room entree card and the doors were really heavy to open and hold open, which it was hard espacially fot the kids and grandma.
We had a really delicious breakfast, you could chose from many things. Everybody was really kind and helpfull. There is free coffee and thee available during the whole day.
