Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceThe bathroom was far away. We knew about not having it in our room but had to go down 2 flights of stairs. If you've had a couple and have an urge beware the steep stairs haha. Also we like futon beds but I know it's not everybody's cup of tea, they're on the hard side.
The owner was so helpful ! The area is great ! We were scared that it would be loud because the road was close but the room gave to the other side and it was quiet. Worth every penny. Good coffee ☕

AustraliaMattresses could have been a little thicker but we still managed a good night’s sleep.
Chai, the host, was so friendly and helpful. Our favourite person that we met whilst in Thailand. He did everything he could to make our short time in Bangkok comfortable and enjoyable. There was free water and coffee making facilities which we were really grateful for in the heat. Plus, Chai’s iced Thai coffee which he sells in the coffee shop below the rooms is delicious. Hot showers were available with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. We had the top room which was warm as a result of it being summer however it had both air con and a fan that cooled the room down. The location was really good with us able to walk to lots of main attractions but without it feeling too busy. Great value for money.

AustriaThe room is a bit cosy and only reached by a steep stair but we felt very much at home.
Chai is the best guy ever! In 3 month southeast Asia we didn't meet a more kind, humble and welcoming host. It is also superclean and nice shower/bathroom. The coffee is great too. He even let us store a bag in his hostel for 3 weeks and gave us advice on many subjects. If we are ever in BKK we will be back!

IndiaThe only downside we found was the hotel's limited recognition among travelers. We hope that through this review, more people will discover and explore this hidden gem.
We reserved a Family Room for a one-night stay to accommodate our family of four. This hotel is a hidden gem in Bangkok, centrally located near several prominent tourist destinations, including Wat Pho (Reclining Buddha), Wat Arun (Temple of Dawn), Wat Traimit (Golden Buddha), Wat Mangkon Kamalawat (Wat Leng Noei Yi), the Grand Palace, Ong Ang Canal, and Chinatown Market. Conveniently, there's also easy access to nearby piers. For dining options, Chakkraphet Road offers excellent Indian restaurants like Punjab Restaurant and Zafran Eatery, along with the convenience of a nearby 7-Eleven. We would like to highlight the exceptional hospitality of the owner, Mr. Chai. He went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable, imparting a true sense of hospitality. The hotel generously provides complimentary unlimited water bottles and various refreshments, including snacks, tea, coffee, and more throughout your stay. To fellow budget travelers, we highly recommend this hotel for its exceptional service and amenities.

GermanyThis place has everything you need. Shampoos, hair dryer, washing machine, dryer, plug-in mosquito repeller, even slippers for the shower and of course internet connection. The hostel is really close to Chinatown. The boat that takes you to the famous temples is just a five min walk away. The entry is a sweet cafe, where you can drink tea and coffee. Also, Chai is the best host I have ever seen! He was so kind, that he came in on a Sunday, even though he didn't have to, because my husband was feeling a little sick and I texted to learn how I could make some tea. He is the sweetest person. Definitely recommend. If you go, try his Thai tea, it was delicious.

United KingdomThis was our second stay at Sip n' Camp and it was great - again! The host is incredibly friendly and helpful and gave us some good suggestions for places to visit. They also do a good iced coffee in the cafe downstairs. Our room was very comfy, the AC works very well (which was great as it's especially hot and humid at this time of year), the bathrooms are always clean and it's great value. It's a short walk from the metro and there are plenty of great places to eat close by. We'd highly recommened it- thank you!

Mr Chai is such a friendly, helpfull and warm person. You feel directly at home. He tries to help you in any way he can. Everything you need is at his place: (free) shampoo in the shower, very good and free coffee at disposal, hairdriers (although we didn't use), fridge, free water, free cookies. Doesn't need to be fee but it adds up for the value of money you get.

Chai is the loveliest host you could ask for, he let us check in 5 hours early with no prior warning, no fee. we were just hoping to leave our bags until it was ready. Fridge stocked full of complimentary water, free tea and coffee. Location is a 5 minute walk to the pier for the 30 baht city boat, is in or on the border of Chinatown, and a short bus journey/ taxi from the main city attractions like the grand palace and khaosan road. Great host, great location, cheap as chips. A backpackers dream. Thank you Chai!
