I did not feel safe at this location from the other guest(mostly foreign men) smoking, drinking alcohol, playing music, and sitting in the stairways. On the inside the bathroom was very small and I was taller than the shower head.

The room was clean, refrigerator was cold, and had plenty of towels. Location was close access to the beach.

The location and it was very close to the beach. The view was great. The grounds were beautiful and included a gazebo and picnic tables.

There was poor housekeeping; there was dust all over the room; countertops, TV, and..... The microwave was dirty and it was not usable! We stayed for 3 nights and we had no housekeeping. When asked, we were told housekeeping is upon request, no one told us that before!!! Housekeeping is one of the essential parts of any hotel, motel, and Inn.

Overall, it was a nice inn, it can use a facelift in most places. Nice room, huge with a very nice view. Excellent hot breakfast, friendly staff, and no shortage of parking spaces.

Photos depict ovean view with chairs and a private patio. There are NO private balconies, as there is a common walkway to enter all rooms on any given floor. So, if your curtain is open to see the ocean, anyone walking by will see into your room. Stairwells are very dark and dingy, cement stairs covered in worn carpeting, and no elevators to second and third floors. Our king room, had old style curtains which let the bright corridor lighting into our room at night.

The location to surrounding area was good, there is private motel entrance to for parking on the beach side, and hotel exterior was nice. Our bathroom was clean and rennovated, but sink was outside the bathroom and in the bedroom. Room was clean throughout, bed was fine, but room dated and needs upgrading.

Not enough silverware in kitchen for four people, had to get can opener from front desk.

Location oceanfront and was able to use indoor pool at Blue Heron. Excellent time spent with grandsons.

Rooms have been updated since the last time I stayed, it was much nicer this time. Very appreciative of the front desk calling to let me know my room was ready and I could check in an hour early!

Site looked a little dated. Lots of people smoking and hanging around so I wouldn't say this place is family friendly

Very clean room. Good pressure in shower. Bed was comfortable. Steps away from the beach. Breakfast was yummy

Old have used one more comfy chair in the room and we don’t have any outdoor chairs on our floor to take in the ocean views.

Great value for the $$. Bed mattress was excellent and had a great nights sleep. The room could use one more chair if possible though

Just a little smaller than I expected but cozy

Ocean Front, friendly and helpful staff, clean room! They refunded a night after I had an accident requiring an emergency surgery and hospital stay. They even called the hospital to check on me!!

The photos made me assume I would have a private balcony but it was in fact a window with the ocean view. Slightly outdated appearance.

the reception was good, the breakfast is the typical American breakfast, really good, they offer a good balance of food, the view and access to the beach just great! and nice beds, comfortable! location is great for all the OBX.

The room descriptions and details in the listing can be improved to differentiate what exactly means the oceanfront and ocean view or,,can add more pictures of individual rooms to make it clear how each room looks

We like the room ,facilities and staff.The room is very comfortable and clean .The room size is more than enough for a single family .It includes two rooms ,one is bed room with 2 queen beds and the otherone is like a small living room with sofa set, micro oven,refrigerator and dining table .

It definitely needs some updating and the hot water is scalding hot. I would be scared for my kids to use the water if they were with us.

Excellent location, just steps to the beach and close to Jockeys Ridge, Wright Brothers museum, and many shops and putt putt. The staff was amazing as well, very kind and had many recommendations for us to do!
